536861646f57
I'm not really sure what people are looking for with mods these days. All I see on Hot Files are sl*tty outfits, HDT extensions for body parts that should never be exposed in a climate like Skyrim's, and a bunch of lore-unfriendly things like rubber gimp suits for CBBE and stuff like that. I only downloaded CBBE because it was the body that had the most texture variety. I crossplay as a male Khajiit, it makes me feel warm inside. I ask because mods like the inappropriate clothing mods are the most popular. I try to make my mods as lore friendly as possible (like the Lapis Lazuli armor I [sorta] made, it was "imported" from Elsweyr and really expensive for that reason). This concerns me because these vastly inappropriate mods (which I am constantly blocking or adding authors to my "don't want to see files like this" list) are pretty much released in such large numbers they bury mods like mine and leave the files almost unseen by the major modding population. I understand there's a factor of "I just don't want another armor mod" or "I have too many mods already". TL;DR: How do I get more exposure? I'm one of "those people" that use a modified hosts file along with an ad blocker so I don't have to worry about ads here on the Nexus, but is it possible to advertise my mods on the Nexus? Or do I have to advertise other places?
Rational314
You actively block ad revenue for the site, and then think you would be allowed to advertise for yourself on here?
kelticpete
This post was epic. I am still laughing. Don't want to sound mean. I am glad the poster makes mods. Also, wondering who decides what is "inappropriate" for a mod. The Nexus has a really really really good searchable system to find mods. Like 100 times better than the steam workshop. So. Yeah. Just Mod, Mod well, and be happy that some people have endorsed your mods. Your mod just came out. people have downloaded it. Some have endorsed it. That is a positive. and for the win, "I am adblocking but would like to buy ad space." That. Is. High-larious.
Wouter445
I know exactly how to fix your problem one. search for a "appropriate" mod donate lots of money. more mods will be created you looking for. two.you make them your self, you can't to bad. 3.stop playing skyrim. SPH1
Just because something can be made does not mean that it should be made.
536861646f57
I think you're missing the point.I use the term 'inappropriate' to describe anything that would be blocked in a typical professional office setting. Nudity, etc.@DrGrimm Well considering I would be paying the Nexus for hosting my ads, yeah. I just want to extend my reach. That's all. I want to know what kind of content users are more likely to gobble up. Edited December 24, 2015 by 536861646f57
woodsman30
Skyrim has a lot of mods 45,032 according to the front page that is huge! There is every flavor of mod here if you don't like a mod move on it is no big deal this is a site for users to "share" mods freely without being condemned for what they tried to make. Now lets ponder the amount of space, time, money, and servers it takes to have that many mods available for us shall we? I have no issue with adds ..bills need to be paid to keep this site free it is that simple. I understand your point but that's how you play we all play different. If you play at work I suspect you wont have a job for long I say this from being a supervisor myself. Not trying to get on anyone's case but more to make a point is all. To answer what people are looking for that is simple.. quality mods that wont break peoples game.
Boombro
Best post 10/10 would read in my dark days again. Why are you not in hot files? Because you are not that good of an armor modder, plain and simple. Those unchristian mods are made by skilled people. If you like it or not. Stop looking down on them because they are nudes, don't fit Skyrim and what not. It doesn't deny the hard work and skill you can clearly see in those mods. Look at any slutty armor, and you can see that it a work of art. And slutty armors are part of TES world, they are in the lore and were in past games and they even look like the slutty armor mods. They use to be worn by the strongest and what not: http://i.imgur.com/w9V3v7y.jpg?1 Let not forget fur armor, vampire armor and tavern clothing.
