Fallout 4 in a nutshell

Honestly, fallout 4 isn't bad at all. It's a good game, just not a FALLOUT game. It's fallout-themed, ya dig?

I started with Fallout 3, then went back and played Fallout 2 via Steam. Then I played NV. All of the fallout games were pretty open to interpretation for the PC and RPing the PC, yes, even fallout 3 since you were just a vault dweller essentially.

I am disappointed with the fact that you are SO heavily locked into your character's role, but meh, a lot of RPGs do that, more of them than the people here care to admit sometimes. I wish it was different, but I make due with what I've got.

I still find the little things to enjoy, like giving Arlen Glass the holotape of his girl, Marlene before the bombs fell. It felt so awesome and it fit perfectly in the game's lore and world. I really appreciated that, it wasn't a quest, just a random holotape that I happened to run into the guy working on the farm of my settlement.

There are a lot of little nice surprises like that to be found in the game, and I havent even touched the main quest or factions at all reall, except for the BOS quests and minuteman settlements to make my Mutfruit Chinese Style Slave Plantations :) To feed my need for cores, fusion cells, and plasma cartridges. You have to take this at a slow pace. I like exploring, so clearing out building after building is fun for me.

Bethesda has a flavor to the fallout series that Black Isle and Obsidian do not. Bethesda's DLC's tend to be wonky and really wierd, not connecting to one another at all, and being purely added for humor and entertainment value, adding extra linear areas to go to, and serve only to add more weapons, locations, and armor, etc... to the game.

Obsidian's DLC adds story, all of the DLCs are connected in some way and serve some purpose to add to the RPG experience. I'm not thrilled with that, as I prefer Obsidian's direction on Fallout much better, and enjoyed Fallout 2 very much. However, I can still appreciate Bethesda's take on it.

It's kind of like Star Wars or Star Trek. The new ones have different appeal to them, and some people can't pull their head out of their rear end to appreciate something, even though it has fautls andthings that they do not like. I loved the prequels of starwars because I have an open mind and can apprecaite something even if it's not exactly what I wanted. It's called being open minded to change.

I don't like the Power Armor being so fragile in the game, but I'll deal with it. I don't like the lack of variety in weapons in this game, but I'll learn to live with it. So far, it's fun, and that's all I really want.

@ Hexxagone been playing over more than three weeks. If a game is not fun all that time it doesn't matter. Different people different tastes.
