3rd or 1st view?

personally, i prefer 3rd person view because i have a more general view of my carachter.

eg: you are walking in a ayield ruin.Suddenly you turn around and BOO! a zombie is trying to rip off your head!

At the first time i played oblivion, tryed to play in 1st view. next thing i know i didn't know where the hell was that mudcrab who just didn't stopped to attack me :(

And that's why i prefer 3rd view

so what about you?

First person mostly, though if im in a swishy mood, if ive bought some near gear etc. ill go third person until I enter combat again.

First person just seems to be so much easier for theiving/combat/sneaking.

Yes, the game was *meant* to be played in first person, and thus, it's easier. You do sometimes get ambushed, but it's much easier to aim in first person. Also, the attack animation really suck, and so the player looks terrible in combat.

I do sometimes go into third person if I get new equipment from a mod or something, but I always play in first person.

Another downside to third person is that is breaks immersion. How can you pretend to *be* your character if you can see yourself?

1st person, but simply out of neccessity. You can't zoom-and-snipe with a bow in 3rd person. When in non-combat situations, it's 3rd person all the way.

I actually take the opposite tack. I'm not the player character, but rather the dark spirit of some lich that has taken possession of her body and made her an half-insane murderer hiding that aspect behind a mask of 'normalcy'.
