Marcus Wolfe
Well, I don't really count pot pies as meat pies. No, I'm talking about the pies that are just crust and meat, possibly with a little garlic. I'm talking about Tourtiere!
Kresselack
Hmmmm... favourites? The best were what my family made. Grandmother always made the best rhubarb pie. Mother made damn good pumpkin pie. I like my sweet pies with a somewhat soft crust. I hate it when it is dry. My favourite savoury pie has venison, peas, and potatoes with the occasional cheese. It is served cooked and not too soggy. Marcus Wolfe
Please, do no use the words 'soggy' in the pie forum. (goes and hides in corner) Soggy pie......eughth!
Carah
I married into a French Canadian family, and Tortiere is big at Christmas time. My favorite is Strawberry-Rhubarb pie smothered in custard. Yummy to eat in the summer after supper, or to have for supper. :) Marcus, you don't eat the leaves, silly.
Marcus Wolfe
I'm not into rhubarb, not just because of the flavor but also..... I DO NOT CARE IF I'M EATING THE STEM I AM NOT EATING SOMETHING WITH POISONOUS LEAVES!!!!
