Well that's what the news said anyway..

 

Your point is still valid (although the mod author may want early warnings of problems within his work), since the issue is tied to a beta patch. Just as well, to have the correct information, however:

Hey, i just wanted to ask if, you got the mod (this one: http://www.mediafire...d_F4_-_Alpha.7z) to work with the F4 1.5 beta patch! I made sure mods work, as i am using a texture mod with it (Downscaled textures 512 mod) I tried installing your mod using NMM, Since it is more organized. It appeared to put all the files where they where supposed to be in, i checked, but unfortunately, it is the reason of a instant crash to desktop as soon as the game loads in the world. (1/2 of mods currently installed, 1 being yours.) Or did i do it wrong? Does it have to be manual???

I was experiencing crashing as well, until I disabled (mod organizer) the following files:

 

\interface\hudmenu.fla

\interface\hudmenu.swf

 

If you are using NMM, try deleting those two files from wherever your mod was installed, and see if it helps. Fixed my crashing issues entirely.

 

 

 

This did it for me, though, i only had the .swf file, much appreciated guy! :happy:

All you gotta do to make .esp's work in the beta for those that don't know, is add a "*" a little star in the plugins.txt, for example: "wastenland512.esp" > "*Wastenland512.esp" With the star digit before the plugin name. (Don't run NMM though or it gets reseted to its original name or even disabled)

You are right about that..

I just wouldn't expect any fixes for a Beta patch. Still something he might wanna look into.. his decision.

But there is no reason wasting his time on something that may only occur in the Beta version of this Patch. If they changed how the plugin.txt works.. they might have changed something else to prevent mods from working properly. (Assuming that they did that change to the plugin.txt to prevent mods with ESPs and ESMs to work)

 

No offense.. im sure he has already plenty of work cut out for him. I think compatibility patches etc. is something he is gonna focus on when the mod is done.

If the final release of 1.5 still causes issues, then he obviously has no other choice - for the sole purpose of being able to test this mod.

 

Anyway.. these are just my thoughts on this matter. He may view this completely different, which is totally fine.

 

Maybe i'm taking this to serious.. i just wanna help him as good as i can by testing every aspect of this mod. Which is, for me, the primary reason why he uploaded this BETA version of his mod.

Yet most of those who are using the BETA version of this mod "complain" about incompatibility issues with other mods, which is totally unimportant at this state of development.

It's obvious that mods that use/replace the same file need a patch for working properly together.

 

While a BETA patch for the game that causes issues is a much more worthy thing to report - this way he knows there MAY we some issues in the future, it is still a unknown factor - for the reason i stated above.

 

God damn.. Sorry for this wall of text.

Looks like I missed a bit of conversation. I haven't fiddled with any beta updates so I don't know how that would work. I am going to update the hudmenu file to be compatible with the new dlc though. However one of my mod's or something is causing my game to crash to the desktop now so I need to figure out what's causing that. Edited by Guest

I might have found what causes the problem with Charisma. If you take a look at this picture:

€: Copy and paste into your browser - link doesn't seem to work either.

 

it seems that Charisma is taller than the other ones.

 

 

If FO only reserves a certain area for the animations it might be that Charisma is shown but the legs are cut off because of its size.
