Ported content has never been an issue

Well, I haven't seen them do anything about it. I honestly don't believe you. And if that's how you think, you're basically saying any and all kinds of modding is illegal.

@DrakeTheDragon I already read it aeons ago. I happen to be stating my opinion.

Your belief is irrelevant in this case, and your opinion happens to be wrong.

Bethesda absolutely does act on ported content when they become aware of it, and they will shut down any mods they find out are doing so. They have even gone after whole websites for not doing something about it if it's brought to their attention and the website owners ignore them.

Plus the game EULAs and CK EULAs specifically prohibit this. So without some kind of proof that another company allows their ported content to be used in mods, it's an infringement and they can legally come after you for it - and so can the owners of the content you're porting.

Here is a recent reply to an email I got from Bethesda support.

I think their stance is pretty clear.

You know, I'm really glad to see that they're interacting this way and responding to more user queries through the support lines. I've noticed this changed some time around the Fallout 4 launch and I think it's a good move on their parts. Used to be one would email support and get back generic replies, but they've been giving out some good replies to stuff like this that you can see were responded to personally by a support tech. I hope they keep this up in the future.

Well, I dunno. They copypasted the same response twice when I mentioned a mod to them on the FO3/FNV Nexus that had the videos of the FO4 promotional SPECIAL series in the download. I haven't checked if that mod was removed yet (reported it like 3 times), but yeah, I got literally the same response from two different people

Many long-time participants in the TES modding scene (including Dark0ne) have had multiple interactions with the BethSoft Staff. Never been a problem communicating with them, and it's usually been very cordial. And they they have NEVER changed their stance on using their materials: "Only for the game in which they were provided, and NEVER without the player already having a legitimate copy."
