tomomi1922
I just started Starlite Drive-in. Now it says I have 4 settlers. I assigned the 3 to their tasks (farming, bar, clinic) and I can't seem to locate the 4th settler. I even rang the bell, only 3 came. The place is not that big at all, I can easily find the 4th one if he/she exists. But all I see is a brahmin walking around (the 2 headed cow). Or there is any chance the settler is invisible? I once had an invisible settler. My very first female settler at Sanctuary, I thought to go in ShowLookMenu and give her one of the default face that player gets. And it drove her invisible (completely). I could only see her via crafting menu, via the green hilight. I had to move her to another location to ... euthanize her. But that was the only time I messed with SLM. Not again. But I still can't find all settlers in Sanctuary (all 13 now). And Starlite is most obvious .... it says 4 but I can only count 3, and I assure you I can count. :)
Ethreon
I think they do. Build them some basic shelter and a trough.

Ethreon
Nah, don't shoot them. They're easy to please, and you'll just get settlers pissed. And not sure they count anyway  EDIT http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Brahmin_(Fallout_4) Edited January 11, 2016 by Ethreon
lilkandeekid
From the wiki -Having brahmin on the trough will improve productivity, hence increasing food output rate into the workshop inventory. They also produce fertilizer - a component for chemistry. One can only have one brahmin producing fertilizer per settlement, so one only needs one trough. So at least they're working for ya! Deleted31005User
Its a wonky system for sure, I'm 100% certain that my brahmin at sanctuary does not count as a settler because I just moved everyone out of Sanctuary and then moved them back one by one in order to make sure all settlers have good equipment on them. But during this testing I also found out that dogmeat doesn't count as a settler either, and neither does Codsworth UNLESS I dismiss Codsworth and specifically tell him to move to Sanctuary, at that point he does count as a settler. So I believe that if you manually assign or buy a brahmin(or a follower, aside from Dogmeat) it might count as a settler, but that brahmin on my game in Sanctuary came there on hes own and I never assigned or bought it, and it does not count as a settler. Im thinking the same thing, I had a brahmin show up at my Co-op settlement that i know doesnt count towards my overall settlers.

If so, he still remains a "citizen" of the settlement he started in.
Moraelin
Yeah, it's probably a provisioner. Pretty sure my cows don't count as settlers. Mind you, I'm pretty sure the brahmin are smarter than the settlers, so that would actually be an upgrade
bladexdsl
provisioner indeed do still take up a settler slot and still want beds, food etc even though they are never at the set anymore :P
