DaTZa
So I have found lots of mods I have in plan. Now why I am asking this? Well to know if my PC could handle wide amount of mods so I do not corrupt my saves. My PC specs are next:OS: Win 10 Pro 64-bitSystem Manufacturer: MSISystem Model: MS-7918Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-4778 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8CPUs) ~3.4GHzRAM: 16GBVideo card: AMD Radeon ™ R9 200 Series
Oubliette
... Your specs have nothing to do with whether or not you corrupt your saves with mods. That's entirely dependent on you and how careful you are with the mods you use. As for how many mods you can have Bethesda games have a hard limit of 255 esp or ESM files. Most people find it difficult to go much more than 100-150 but if you're careful, thorough and know what you're doing it's usually quite possible to have triple that number. Haoswidasee
You can run quite a lot actually, but you have to do it right. If you want, use this tutorial. Then add any mods afterwards that you want that it doesn't have. This all works for sure. Ultimate Fallout 4 Compilation
tomomi1922
... Your specs have nothing to do with whether or not you corrupt your saves with mods. It is the actual .esp files. I recommend you using NMM for ... simply making your life so much easier .... And each download may contain anywhere from 1 to 10+ .esp files. Texture mods do not have any .esp file: They just replace existing stuff in game. You can't be sure, you HAVE to open up the zip file to look to see if it is a simple texture replacer or more. Replacers are generally safer. So 255 is how many actual esp and esm files in your Data folder. And hypothetically speaking, you can go over that limit without knowing, that some mod authors, either incompetent or for some reasons, decide to populate a ton of esp in their mod. 1 innocent mod = 20+ esp .... I haven't seen one, but don't doubt it. Edited January 12, 2016 by tomomi1922
ManicKing
I have been playing with 98 mods just fine, no lag or crash........I wanted more, a lot more! So I downloaded an extra 200 and it says that it won't run, now I have to sift through the rubble to get the elite!!
royallen
According to NMM I currently have 546 installed, 341 active mods, and 225 active plugins. I might get a random crash every few hours, but for the most part I'm 90% stable. I've been modding since Skyrim first released so I've been around the modding game for almost 5 years. EveningTide
254 mods. 255 is reserved I think. Merged plugins can bypass that.
RS13
Your PC specs will affect how many demanding visual or script heavy mods you can run, but even then there's no hard and fast number. If you're a new modder--and based on your statement about having mods you plan to use, I think you are--is take things very slowly. Start with just a few mods and then add new ones one at a time. It will save you a ton of headache.
Loveblanket
If you learn the simple steps of merging mods, there theoretically is no limit aside from the VRAM limitations of your graphics card when it comes to graphics mods.
