dragonslayer2k12
Yeah I know it is their HQ but seriously why go there? Oh there are some bonus items there... and? They just respawn anyway so why bother? Sure the named npcs don't respawn but the "gunners" will always be there just like quincy. I just don't get it why respawn them if they were wiped out they should not respawn basically they are done for and disband if the player kills their leaders right? Otherwise why even bother naming any of them or calling any of them leaders? I keep trying to find a reason to play this game but once I mostly navigate all the bugs and bad story this kind of crap just wipes out any interest I have left in playing the game. I look at it like this, from the beginning I ran into preston and boo hoo they almost died in quincy blah blah, well I am now level so and so preston you get your ass in that minutemen painted T45 over there and we are going BACK to quincy so you can find out what it REALLY means to be a minutemeeeeeens dammit! but nope we wipe them out and they just grow back later totally killing that kind of story line thinking. Not even some good dialogue from preston like "I don't believe it we really got them all finally capt so and so is avenged!" nope nothing but boo hoo poor people that died here when he is near the grave yard in quincy. I am thinking of taking danse with me to go kill every dam gunner in gunners plaza but why? why bother with the effort my immersion is ruined by this kind of crap and totally killing any interest in playing the game at this point. The better weapons show up too fast early in the game and the dam base building consumes all my time then before I know it almost an in game YEAR has passed and dammit those gunners are still around? Ferals I can understand since there would be millions of them but gunners or even raiders really? Super mutants maybe because they are kinda everywhere maybe they migrate on a regular basis but gunners should just disband after a while if you wipe out their HQ and some of their major holds. Dammit I hate this game, the power play keeps me trying to play it even though the game sucks and is a buggy mess.
Raycheetah
I could see someone modding a final end campaign for the Gunners, but only after all the DLC has dropped. No way to know what part, if any, the Gunners will play in subsequent releases. I wholeheartedly agree that you should be able to recapture and HOLD Quincy. ='[.]'=
Deleted31005User
Everyone is always pointing to DLCs to fix this game, lol.
dragonslayer2k12
I am reminded just now of the vigilants of stendarr and their DLC HOUSE placeholder in skyrim which ended up being used in the dawnguard DLC. Now that I think about it, all the places like gunner plaza and maybe big raider spots are just DLC placeholders. I hate DLC it is an abomination and must be exterminated from the gaming industry. Deleted31005User
Yup, but to be honest, which gaming company these days releases a near perfect game that does not require DLCs or constant patches? Thats old skool.I'm afraid that as long as people keep spending money on incomplete games and all their 'extras' that this trend will only become worse over time, and nothing spells PROFIT for a company than having to release multiple DLCs so they can basically resell their game for like 3 times the original value. If DLCs were free on the other hand, I would completely accept that.
CyrusAmell
Gunner's Plaza? I use it as a farm for heavy armor and good guns to give to my settlers and provisioners. It's fun to clean the place out and occasionally the Legendary Gunner inside will drop something nice. The Legendary Gunner is always where it spawns, so if it suits your (insane) fancy then save outside the plaza and run in killing everything in your path until he drops dead at your feet. If you don't like the weapon type then reload from the quicksave outside. If you do like the weapon type (Assualt Rifle etc) but not the Legendary effect then reload from the autosave at the entrance and kill your way to him to find the same weapon type with a new effect. A high level player with an endgame arsenal should be able to get to the Legendary in under a minute if you don't bother with looting or sneaking. Fair warning this process may drag at your nerves so don't try going at it too long. The loot your can acquire here basically justifies the eventual investment in the Pack Mule perk in my opinion. Warmaker01
I love Gunner's Plaza and Quincy. GREAT places to farm very good equipment. "Hmm. I have a settlement with a bunch of scrub Settlers with crap gear. Guess it's time to go shopping at GPlaza or Quincy." Keep 'em coming, Gunners. Keep 'em coming... Moraelin
Well, the main reason for respawning places is that a LOT of people wanted that in, for example, Fallout 3. And there was a lot of moaning and gnashing of teeth about not being able to play past the game end in both FO3 and NV. But to play long term right that, you need new enemies, or at some point you're just stuck on an empty map with not much left to do. So basically, well, Beth simply listened to what a lot of people were asking for. Maybe not you personally, but others quite like it and wanted it. GoodfellowGoodspring
I placed a workshop in Quincy and turned it into a settlement. I plan on making a mod which allows you to take over once enemy controlled cities to give a sense that you are changing the Commonwealth. I felt the same about Gunners HQ as well, i was expecting a questline or someway to destroy their chain of command or even join them. It was just full of enemies like any other part of the map but with higher level weapons.
SiNNeR
you can get a nice bit of story off the tapes the named Gunners drop, but it is a bit disappointing that clearing out their entire HQ and most of their leadership doesn't seem to even put a dent in the group. would've been nice to have a quest to take them out and afterwards the Gunners become a bit less common (to signify their weakened condition)
