wait/sleep/rest bug

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm encountering strange behaviour while trying to sleep/rest or wait, no matter what amount of hours I choose to rest, one hour passes, then the wait display gauge jumps to the left, displays -1 hours and disappears. Rarely 2 hours pass before this happens. As you can imagine this makes waiting for vendor refresh rather painful. I use darnified UI where I changed max value for sleep to 96 hours. I tried restorring original UI, tried restoring default DarnUI - same behaviour. It shouldnt be load order as a new test char I started can rest just fine with the same mods.

If anyone encountered same issue and knows a solution (apart than loading earlier save which is not option for me, last save i'd be willing to return to would already lose me 10+ hours of play and is bugged in this way too) I'd much appreciate. Google yields one youtube video depicting what also happens to me, without a solution though

peace out

I Fixed in by uninstalling A world of Pain

He/she never gave a load order... But seriously I would start a new game, fast forward through the initial stuff in Doc's house and then try waiting to see if the same problem persists. If it works fine from a new game consider a corrupt save at some point in the game in question (it's happened to me several times, which is why I manually do a console "save 0, save 1, save 2, etc up to 9" as I go, and also make landmark saves such as, "save <char>START, save<ENTERSTRIP>, save <char>BENNY" etc). Let us know.

I didn't post load order as i stated in original post i did what you suggested and the new char can rest just fine. also i have the saves as i also stated in original post, however as i already said last save i would be willing to go back to would lose me over 10 hours of play and is still corrupted the same way.

uninstalling word of pain is also not an option for me, without AWOP, fallout becomes rather boring and empty.

I'm well aware it's most likely corrupted save, however there might be a way to circumvent this like a console command to pass time or so, which i didn;t find but if it exist someone might know it - hence the whole post :)

EDIT: also, if you notice in the video i linked, it's made on console which means NO mods, so the issue likely isn't tied to a mod.

I am just encountering this problem myself and I was under the impression that is was one of AWOPs patches causing the problem (CFW or BoE). Are you having this problem with the main file on its own or are you running one of those weapon patches too?

If not at least that would explain why I can't find a problem there.

i think i use those patches, what's intriguing is the youtube vid shows it happening on console so there shouldnt be any way to have mods there i thought.

please find the full load order here:

  • 2 weeks later...

Just letting you know the problem is fixed. It was isolated to the CFW patch and two old versions of the BoE patch and for some reason was being caused by new NPCs in the wastes not having the 'No Low Level Processing' box ticked in the NPC menu. Big thanks to rickerhk who spotted the solution.

New patches are out now.
