Marcus Wolfe
Ah, I see it all now. I can assist you in your efforts for world domination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!111!!!!!!Through careful cultivation, we should be able to make that algae of yours devour oil (there's already microscopic organisms that have been genetically engineered to do so, so why not algae?). We could then unleash it upon an oil depot and threaten to let the algae devour all the oil in the world!!!!!!!!(laughs maniackly)Of course, we don't know a thing about genetic engineering. Crap.Okay, genetic engineering not necessary. If you let your algae grow in an oily area, eventually it will find a way to consume oil. Right? Switch
This is getting veeery off-topic and a bit spammy. Let's please turn this back into a debate about evolution or I'm either locking this or moving it to The Lounge.
Marcus Wolfe
What? We almost got closed? Can't let that happen....................Quickly, someone argue with the following statement:Creatures that reproduce sexually will have a better chance of survival because creatures that reproduce asexually have no variation and therefore do not evolve. hoots7
No geographical evidence exists that a major flooding of the earth happened after the rise of manYou’re not being intellectually honest; a quick Google gave me this article, not proof but evidence none the less. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/20...nkencities.html you will find similar results as well, signs of water on highest points on earth.(heck, I don't even think there's enough water in the world to flood everywhere!) We never did find the lost arcSome believe Noah’s Ark is on Mount Ararat in Turkey, can’t confirm or disprove because it is in a military zone. , we never found the garden of Eve and AdamDo you mean “The Garden of Eden”? According to a certain book that can not be mentioned on this topic it’s not suppose to be found until a certain thing happens.Religion's time is up. It is time for science to take over.According to science your worth about 12-15 dollars, the price of the chemicals & elements of your body, so if we follow only science, to its natural conclusion your life or anyone else’s is practically worthless. But that’s what you want to take over.According to the Book I can’t mention you are priceless and worth dying for.One thing is for 100% certain you will have your answer after you die. Here is a quote for you, I try to go by."Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." Albert Einstein
The Hippie
there is no way to prove either side of this arguement either side is feasible but no one has stated that a theory that both are partially true if the universe was started by a huge explosion(part of theory of evolution) how exactly did the intensely dense particle come about? some might say that it was already there well how exactly did it explode after being a stable particle? and if the particle was already there where is there? the theory of evolution cannot be proven without a small amount of divine intervention
KzinistZerg
Um, no? The Big Bang is NOT PART OF EVOLUTION. How life came about is NOT PART OF EVOLUTION. Evolution states, that, over time, the most fit for the environment will survive and propagate their genes.
Marcus Wolfe
THANK YOU KzinistZerg!hoots7, I did check out that website and I say this:Just because a couple of cities sunk (including Atlantis, if it ever existed) doesn't mean the entire Earth was flooded at one point. OK, it was, but that was before the rise of man. The seas slowly rose after the ice age, no dramatic floodings. And by the way, you may be able to buy the chemicals and elements necessary (35 liters of water, 20 kilograms of carbon, 4 liters of ammonia, 1.5 kilograms of lime, 800 grams of phosphorus, 250 grams of sodium, 100 grams of saltpeter, 80 grams of sulfur, 7.5 grams of fluorine, 5 grams of iron, 3 grams of silicon, and trace amounts of fifteen other elements) for 12-15 dollars, but how will you ever assemble them into a human body? It is scientifically possible, but way too expensive for you. Well, as for evolution, I should propose some kind of challenge, shouldn't I?hmmmmmmmm....... Here is the Challenge:Explain how two species that don't come from the same continent be extremely similar.
KzinistZerg
Hell, that's easy. Vultures. Two different bird species from entirely different continents are remarkably similar because they both occupy the same niche in nature. And bacteria. EDIT: Also the only time that the earth was 'flooded' would have been when it was a giant wad of lava. Mountains are formed because tectonic plates push together. If the intercept line had water-formed rock on it, the rock will get pushed up.
FritzDerochebrune
Aye, we'll be waitin' fer it.In the meantime, I shall set up a new line of defense:"Yes, it doesn't mutate, but I can't explain that what I mean, I don't know how to say it in English"Do you mean decompose? While DNA does decompose, it doesn't actually change the DNA it just destroys small parts of it. It's like trying to put together a puzzle with a missing piece as opposed to a puzzle with a non fitting piece. And, seeing as you can get that other piece of the puzzle from another DNA strand, it's not that hard.Everybody, may I please have your attention: Notification of capitulaiton Hereby I, Fritz Derochebruen, decided to cancel all planned offensives (military term) towards the evolutionists on this board. Hereby I offer you my unconditional surrender. The reason why is quite simple: I not think it is plausible dinosaurs evolved into birds. How did this happen? Did I stumble upon something while searching for new arguments? No. The thing (things actually) that changed my mind where some ducks. During the holiday I could see ducks every day. When I was watching them, I found some simmilarities in the way they act with the way dinosaurs supposedly acted. You have won. May I offer my congratulations.
