Algiark
So this is pretty much against the point of customizing your characters and actually roleplay, but the roleplay element in FO4 is mostly flavor anyway so let's get that aside. This idea came to me from old school RPGs, where you have several characters in your party but you only control one when not in battle. It came to me; why don't we create several characters for ourselves? Instead of having multiple saves with each having its own unique character, why not put all those characters in one save? That way you can play as all of your creations while keeping all the quests! What I'm thinking is some sort of character switcher in-game where you can have plenty of avatar characters, each with their own appearances and skills, and you can switch between them when you want. Finished with the blazing gunfight and want a genius armorer type? Just switch! Bored with the muscles on your Asian avatar and want to play as a slim Caucasian? Switch! This doesn't make sense at all in gameplay terms, or even in lore, other than perhaps your main character has developed several 'personalities' while on ice as part of vault experiment... But it could be really fun!
Gilibran
Sounds like fun but what if one of them is a real bastard and wants to join BoS and destroy the railroad while the others want to go with the railroad? Pretty complicated ;-)

Pretty complicated ;-)That's why I said it doesn't make sense at all in terms of lore~ Because it hella hard to make? Are you a modder? Please explain why it's hard to make. Who knows, maybe other modders will see your explanation and think "hey, I got a solution for that problem."
Boombro
Are you a modder? Please explain why it's hard to make. You to know what such a idea is hard to make? A mod that let you switch between many pcs, not even npc, but pc? There is a mod like this for Skyrim, so it may be do-able(with npcs.). But here the catch, it the only mod that ever does this, ever. So if that modder didn't wish to play FO4, well. You may never get it.
