kevkiev
This is what I get when I try to play directly through steam http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh70/diggermats/FSteam.jpg So, I take it this is all a NVSE thing? So maybe just a short wait 'til everything's hunky dory again, but I'm still confused as to why steam applied the patch despite me having disabled auto-update about 40 minutes before the patch came out. Mookeylama
Hmmmn, I'd forgotten that you don't necessarily have to patch. One question that just occurred to me: do patches affect the ini files? Just wondering, if I patch, whether or not I'll have to play around with the ini files to restore ArchiveInvalidation and the font changes for the Darnified UI. (No big deal I guess.) new to Steam, and it may already be too late, but how do i not let the game get auto patched?

Well, I figured it was a matter of right clicking the game and going to "properties" then "updates" and selecting the "do not automatically update" option. But that didn't seem to work for me. ccronin
Grrrr... my GECK is broken as well. It won't load the master file (FalloutNV) or let me edit my new Doctor Sockets cells (which I created from scratch and which are in their own plugin file). Damn you, Obsidian! I was afraid that might happen. I never trust games that spend so much time pushing data back and forth during even the 'normal' operation of the game. That's why I have been playing offline. Didn't want to take a chance. One of my friends is having the same issues you are. Luckliy, he had it installed on his laptop as well. But, hadnt played the laptop for over a month. He is feverishly copying the old game files from there to his desktop, as I type!

ita
It's been confirmed that the GECK doesn't work with the new patch. a new GECK version should be up at Bethesda's site tomorrow (read post #12). ayala84
i dont get why everyone is freaking about about the patch. we just need to wait for the nvse patch. the mods should be fine, i think. my PIP Boy Redius doesnt work. I just stare at my hand. It requires an updated NVSE. I dont have save from before I loaded the Readius mod, so I'm going to have to wait.
