Another thing I would like to add to this, isn't Kate Middleton from a millionaire family?

I understand that she would be considered a "Commoner" due to non royal status, but seriously?

Yep... seriously. Princess Diana was also a commoner. It's a big (not really) deal. But, these days there really aren't many other options as far as royalty goes.

Maybe I am just crazy, but I think that tornadoes killing 100 or so people across the south is much more important that two rich people getting married.

Sure, show footage of the marriage itself, don't report constantly on the dress and all that other crap, more important things are going on.

I may be wrong, but this isn't even the prince that will take the throne anyways right?

Local news has been doing a better job, but FOX, MSNBC, and CNN have been reporting the wedding like it was something life changing, it doesn't matter to most people.

Does a death poll have to be over 1000 to be counted as important? Is our society really so f***ed up that we care more about two rich people in a marriage then natural disasters killing people?

How many people have to die before it becomes more important then a wedding. 500? 1000? Does it need to be a terrorist attack?

I find it completely insane that the media can just droll all over the wedding when other s*** is going on.

Also, I am referring to the USA of course.

EDIT: Title was too long, can a moderator edit it to be shorter for me...

What do you think the media is going to focus on? A 400 year old tradition broken in the blink of 24 hours, or the tornadoes up North? This is history in the making, it will be in the history books, and I doubt the tornadoes will have a place in there.

Now, I'm not saying the tornadoes aren't bad, of course they are, it's tragic, but based on the question you're asking, c'mon, be realistic.

Martharth you do know what nationality the owner of this site is?.....major facepalm

Why would that matter?

If a big tornado hit the UK that killed over 100 people I would not care about a presidents wedding, even though a president probably couldn't be elected into office single now days.

I know its history in the making, but what is more important?

Well, its probably because i am not british (THANK GOD) that the following reasoning may seem alien:

Firstly, why the #### would i care for the wedding? What are those 2 doing to improve our life that i should ador and worship their ceremony?

What have they done for me to respect them? What have they done for me to even watch them? HAve they saved lives? have they stopped a war? Have they donated money to Charity's?

Sorry if i offended anyone but at this point, i am a hate bomb.

Then obviously, you don't understand how history works. As useless as this wedding seems, I ensure you, it is definetly not. History has the power to tear down the world (and it has by our means, lest me sing you the tune of the world wars) and rebuild it again. Who knows what this wedding will lead to? Will it anger the Middle East because they believe in the Anglo-American Imperialist policy, or perhaps, will it fortifity world enlightenment and bring forth new ideas, perhaps leading to all sorts of new movements? You never know what snow flake will cause the avalanche, and let me remind you that the Saint Bartholomew Day Masscare Wedding, which took place in France almost half a millenuim ago, DID impact the entire course of history. Don't underestimate world events.

I understand and agree to some extent. However they DO devote money and time to many charities..in fact that was their request instead of receiving wedding gifts. Also...I loved the history of it all. Mostly..I think its a moral booster....for England and some in the rest of the world. A little fairy tale fantasy for us. Should we forget the important things? No, of course not. But a little fantasy never hurt anyone.

:)

Calm down. You can not control other people...ever. So go find a way to help the world yourself and know you at least make a difference.

No..she was not. She was minor nobility..actually related to Prince Charles from way back in the tree. She was Lady Diana Spencer prior to her marriage, after which time she was given the title Princess of Wales.

(sorry for the double post)

Well, you know, big times are approaching, and everyone should at least be aware of that.
