A Palestinian State

You can paint a rosey picture all you want. Most of the governments in the ME preach hate of the west to divert attention away from themselves.

Sometimes a rosy picture is the truth.

In this case, I gave you a large amount of statistics from your own source.

You are taking the numbers from western countries to skew the view of Muslim countries. No amount of paint can cover over the fact the 100% of the Muslims in Jordon hate the joos. Even the 6% in the US is rather alarming. If you think Christians have the same numbers post them.

I have tried looking for numbers but I could not find any statistics, it would be nice if someone could direct me to something like that.

I am not taking numbers from western countries to "skew" the view of Muslim countries. I put together all the numbers to reach a world wide average.

I think it is quite obvious though that at least 6 percent of christens in the USA dislike Jews considering the history of Antisemitism.

You also have to take into account the me countries have quite oppressive governments, I doubt the polling can be very accurate in some countries.

Not to mention there is a large difference between "hate" and "dislike."

Except Christians aren't blowing jews up so it really doesn't matter if some of them hate the jews. I still say if you dislike and entire ethnic group/race/religion you may as well call it hate.

I will go ahead and edit my reply to make myself more clear.

Did you forgot about the KKK? They were/are without question a white supremacist Christan group. They hate everyone including Jews, and have killed them before as well.

Even though the KKK is much smaller now, many white supremacists who identify themselves as chsirtans comment murders.

So you have to blow them up now? Hanging them and shooting them isn't enough?

I would advise pursuing a different avenue of argument on the subject at this point as you're on pretty shaky ground. The comparison can be made from a purely theoretical point of view yes, but it in no way even remotely reflects the actual reality of the situation.

Yet another sign of the shake uo in geo politics the Arab Spring is causing.

Barack Obama links Israel peace plan to 1967 borders deal

The implicit support Israel has enjoyed from the US since its creation is clearly coming into question .This support made sense geo politically when the US was engaged in the Cold War and could always substantiate its unwavering support by pointing out that Israel was the only functioning democracy in the region.Well as the Arab Spring is showing that reasoning no longer holds water as its been the US that has supported most of the dictators in the region for most of the last 30+ years..So when it comes to the US the people in the region , including the Palestinians are coming to recognize that the US is a non player as far as their aspirations for democracy goes and if they are to gain the freedoms they want ,they are going to have to take it into their own hands.

This speech by Obama is recognition of this changing reality in the Middle East and its an attempt to re insert the US as an important player in the drama that is unfolding ,this is necessary for the US because if the general population in the Arab/Muslim world comes to view the US's influence as being irrelevant then it will have serious national security implications for the US in the region and given the importance of that area probably its (US) national security in the world.

Interesting times we live in.

Trouble is, Israel will never agree to those terms, and the US will never withdraw support, if they don't 'toe the line', so to speak. The US IS a non-player in the Israel/Palestine stalemate, we do not have the will to do what is going to be necessary to form a two state solution there. I am not even going to hope for "peace" in the region, as it will NEVER happen, so long as their are two separate factions. Only way to achieve peace there, is for one side, or the other, to no longer be an issue. I.E. Dead. There is a fairly large segment of the Arab population that will NEVER accept Israel as an independent state, there will always be unrest. The only way I see to really deal with the issue there, is to withdraw support for Israel, pull out our military, and let Israel deal with the problem on their own, or, be dealt with... as the case may be. But, Israel has far too much influence here in the states for that to ever happen.

Never say never. Two men enter - one man leaves, well, that is odd propaganda we still sometimes hear from Tehran. It is just a matter of a longer mutual probation and, of course, the human will to cope with visible changes to the better. What this de facto means is clear: It takes more than just a single spring to make a happy new year. Edited by DeTomaso

You must be more of an optimist than I am. :D Either that, or you have more faith in the human race than I do. Maybe both....

I think you underestimate the arrogance of the various powers.
