HandofBobb
anyone else run into this mission? I just had a guard in Sanctuary approach me and talk about needing supplies to repair a generator.Over her shoulder (literally!) I watched one of my windmills spontaneousl;y burst into flames! but at the same time, I thought, "hey, that's a new type of radiant mission, nice to have something to break the monotony of killing raiders and rescuing Lucy Abernathy kidnap victims. Until I started the mission, that is- first off, it seems I auto-accept it, much like one of Preston's missions. Then, turns out repairing the windmill only gives "Build or Repair Generators 50.43%" complete. "Okay, no big deal right, all I gotta do is find the other broken one and repair it, rigfht? (but why the .43%?)" WRONG! I searched all over Sanctuary, and none of my other generators was broken. My power grid in Sanctuary has over 500 units right now, so they can't possibly need another generator, but I'll build one just to move the mission along... a small generator gave me .14%. the LARGE Industrial Generator from Homemaker (75 Power) gave me less that 10%!!! I guess it wants me to double my current output to complete the mission. but that's just absurd. EDIT: Oh yeah. I forgot to mention the best part:it auto-failed when I left Sanctuary  Edited February 3, 2016 by HandofBobb
TheOriginalEvilD
Yeah man I was just complaining about this in another thread. I got the same mission, and I ended up building about 30 small generators (no kidding) in order to get the percentage to 100. You can't leave Sanctuary, nor can the person who gave you the quest. I scrapped them all after I completed the mission, but it was pretty stupid. When I got to Sanctuary, I noticed a smoking large generator so I immediately repaired it, but THEN I got the quest. I went around to all my generators and they were all fine, so the only way to pass the mission was to build new ones. The first time I did it, I had gone back to Sanctuary to find a synth spy.....and wouldn't you know it, the spy was the guy who gave me the damn mission. I had already sent him to Red Rocket before he gave me the mission, so once he got out of Sanctuary, the mission failed. I had to reload, find him before he left Sanctuary, assign him back to Sanctuary, then do the mission, then send him back to Red Rocket, then blow his damn head off for giving me the mission. AeonsLegend
Are you guys using a settlement mod that increases the size? It's possible that the amount of power required is bound to your settlement size. Edit: reading your other comments I'd say you forced your settlements to be larger than they were intended by the game. So I'd say you broke this quest yourself. Warmaker01
I saw a similar mission pop up for my Drive-In Settlement a few days ago. There were 2 generators that were damaged when I visited it and I promptly repaired them. Only problem was the mission did not arise BEFORE that, only AFTER I repaired them  So I ended up failing the mission. The funny thing was that I never seen this mission type arise before and I have hundreds and hundreds of hours of play in this game. Settlement mods can possibly be an issue here. I wasn't playing a vanilla game when it came down to the Settlement aspects.
robhartman9
I think I got that mission without talking to any settlers. I use the project commonwealth mod and I only build the 999 power fusion generators. Infinite power and it wasn't happy until I had 2 infinite power sources
Moraelin
Well, you know, with great power comes great responsibility... to abuse it. Oh wait, you guys were talking about electrical power, right?
tomomi1922
Imo, just create a new power generator, that should cover the quest.

No, but I do run a mod that changes generator output. That could be it. OP are you using anything that changes generator stats?

OP are you using anything that changes generator stats? nothing that changes the output of any generators, just new ones in Homemaker and a bunch of DDs Solar Panels. Ive resigned myself to the fact that I'm just gonna fail this mission whenever it comes up, cause it is ridiculous...
fcth
This is a bit dated, but for anyone else who finds this: I am using a settlement budget mod which may be part of the problem. I got at at the Egret Tours Marina. Repairing the generator only got me to 60%. I built another medium generator which did nothing. Then I shot it up, until it broke, repaired it, got an 80% message, and then the quest completed. So maybe try breaking some stuff so you have more to fix...
