Baphomet
I've been cleaning up some minor "issues" with some of the plug-ins I'm running, and in so doing have run across something I'm not sure about. Those of you familiar with installing plug-ins know that, for instance, a *.DDS file (a "Texture") would normally be put into the Morrowind/Textures folder. What I'm finding however, is that sometimes the mod will have some *.TGA files ("Icons") in there as well. The reverse is also true, sometimes I find I *.TGA files in the "Textures" folder. So, In short, I'm finding what I believe, are the wrong file types, in the wrong folders. My question is, to those who actually know HOW to make mods, is simply, would there ever be a reason for, say, a *.DDS file to show up in the "Icons" folder or a *.TGA to show up in the "Textures" folder - or is it safe to assume that a mistake has been made when that happens?? "Meshes" it seems always seem to be located as I expect them to be (in the "Meshes" folder) for some reason. And just to clear up any possible confusion, these are *NOT* files that I have "unzipped", these files are still in the original, archived "package". DragoonFurey
You can use tga or dds for icons. I'm not entirly sure about tga's for textures however, I would assume they work but they probably would not be the most practical for that. As far as I know morrowind can read BMP, TGA, and DDS files for icons and birthsigns.
