Gamers Music Preferences

[Lateralizm]

This is basically going to be sort of a music debate/compare. I will post my opinion and anyone can go off that. Also, I will post my three favorite bands at the bottom. Oh, that is gonna be hard to do. :tongue:

Now, I am not trying to say one type of music is better than the other, but being a musician myself I find it somewhat of a disgrace to make music without people who actually play an instrument. Yes, technically vocals is an instrument because there is a huge difference between a good singer and a bad one. Plus, most of the mainstream music today is auto tuned. If your voice needs to run through a machine before it sounds good, maybe you should work on your vocals. I know i appreciate when someone does not use it. Anyone care to argue? :biggrin:

Metal. Though I do tend to a lot of classical music nowadays.

 

Favorite bands? hmm let's see:

 

1. Within Temptation (It's a dutch band)

2. Emperor (black metal)

3. ehh dunno.. Metallica I guess. (because I always tend to put it on whenever I have to drive a long way in my car.)

 

Edit: I'll have to agree with your opinion Blacklight. I don't like it either when a band or a singer can't make music or sing without having to rely on a computer/sythesizer/whatever.

Fortunately it's usually easily noticeable whenever you go to a concert.

2. Metallica (the old Metallica: Master of Puppets, Ride The Lightning, And Justice For All, etc...)

3. Any one of these following bands is a candidate for #3: Austrian Death Machine, Blind Guardian, Cannibal Corpse, Dimmu Borgir, Iced Earth, In Flames, The Black Dahlia Murder

 

Also I like Angerfist from the "Other" category (Angerfist does hardcore/techno)

Ah who cares that they're new. There's a lot of newer bands which make great music. Although they, in my opinion, don't have that same "feel" to them as some of the "older" bands did.

Bullet For My Valentine is great too btw. I've even been to a concert by them once and it was great. Went there with the 14 year old children of my colleague. (Too shy to go without a "grownup" I guess :tongue: )
