I am getting tired of the Phishing attempts on this site. I am even having to make sure the text I am writing actually shows up on the page. I am writing this in Notepad now because I am tired of the pauses the Phishing attempts are causing. Trying to use your site is frustrating. I just got a Phishing Attempt from this page. This is what Bitdefender has blocked :

"This webpage http://sync.1rx.io/usersync2/pubmatic is identified as a Phishing Webpage that may cause identity theft or financial loss". The webpage has been successfully blocked by Antiphishing filter and your pc is now safe. (Bitdefender Total Security).

This showing up in Bitdefender coincides with the pauses I am experiencing on your site. This is not the only Phishing Site being used by your Website. Yesterday I had over 30,000 Phishing attempts blocked while trying to navigate your website.

I am reporting this site to the FCC. Maybe then something can be done about the illegal attempts to aquire personal and financial information from the people that visit your website.

And IF the FCC even bothers to look into this ( I really hope they do, but don't hold your breath  ) One of the first things they will look at is How many complaints of this problem have been made against this site? And how many users are there - what is the ratio of complaints to users?

And what they will find is the ratio is about 10:10,000,000 or approximately ten in ten million. Or roughly one in a million.

Then they will run a more sophisticated AV, such as VirusTotal. You can run it too It's FREE for limited use and here is the link. https://www.virustotal.com/

VirusTotal does NOT check your computer, It checks the website (URL) or a specific file on the internet (such as one of our downloads) in question without it even being on your computer at all. You don't download VirusTotal, as it runs on the internet and not on your computer.

BTW, I just checked and Virus Total shows zero hits out of 67 separate AV engines used. One of the engines used was the commercial version of BitDefender.

Antiviruses do have what is known as false positives where they report something that is not an actual virus. It is possible that some rouge advertising is causing that problem though. And just like I recommend to others, Run BOTH a second AV such as Malwarebytes AND JRT (junkware removal tool) The second AV will either confirm or or not - and the JRT will clean out a lot of the garbage programs that sneak into your computer without you even noticing.

malwareBytes has a free version for stand alone scanning - it does not check constantly like your Bitdefender, just once.

Link: https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/

And JRT was recently bought from it's independent developer, who was hired by MalwareBytes to maintain JRT.

And for those who think, "I'm too good at watching for those trash programs, so it just not possible that I missed one." Nope, nearly every computer, including mine will pick up an occasional unwanted garbage program. Usually without you even knowing. So, before bragging, check first.

Sorry if this has been addressed already.

The Tracking and Downloaded lists are great, but I personally use tracking to keep an eye on up-and-coming or future-playthrough type of mods. The Downloaded list isn't all that helpful on a playthrough as there is no easy way to check for any that have been updated since download (unless you leave them tracked).

Adding last updated/uploaded to the Download history list would help me quickly scan for anything thats had an update since I downloaded it.

And yes I know I can check the list in NMM, but with patches etc, the latest version number doesn't always match up.

Thank you.

Jeir wrote: From our 'Endorsements' might be better.
There are several mods I've downloaded just to check something, or simply didn't like and thus deleted and didn't give an endorsement.
In any case, such a thing would probably have to rely on the tagging system, with is rather flawed even when it is used, due to user interpretation of the tags.
cleggmasta wrote: yea, thirded, but from the endorsed mods as Jeir said

Endorsements sounds better, it's a great idea this one :D

BlueGunk wrote: I'd agree here - thanks. Tracked mods are all but useless in the current design. It would be good to have a picture "card" view like the main pages so you can skim over the mod cards and spot what you want quickly. At the moment you have to plod through a list that is in no apparent order whatsoever.
Jeir wrote: And I'll disagree, or at least ask for current option on its own page, no pics, and jumbo-pictures-on-front-page option for those who want it. =D Tracked mods as they are suits me perfectly fine. I can see the name of the mod, when it was last updated (which determines what position on the list it is, by the way) and when I last downloaded it. As someone who does not like mod managers, it is my preferred (and if I didn't keep all mods I use on my HDD, my only) way to keep up to date with the mods I use.

http://i.imgur.com/4Y6H3TH.png There is a section for tracked mods, check the bar in "MORE MODS", the last option to the right. Just as you asked (and me too honestly, the actual tracking centre is pretty awful)

SinMike wrote: Always thought it would be great to have something like "Dont show me this mod" button. I'll try to explain - browsing through even 16K mods for FNV (not to mention 46K Skyrim mods), it's hard to remember which mods i've tried, which i'm not interested, or not liked. And so, I click this button, and this mod is not shown to me anymore. Is it possible?

Like instead of blocking an user, blocking a mod? Sounds interesting actually...

Raum777 wrote: Hi Paul; Welcome aboard the Nexus. I'm not sure how I should address this problem so I will try to let you know what others are having a problem with as well as myself. So; I will just jump in and hope I don't drown. I brought this problem up with Robin Scott once; but he just told me to put it in the forum. I did and got one person to finally help me after two years of waiting. Now to the point.

Paul; why is it that every time I sign out of Nexus Mod Manager and then later sign back in to down load a new mod all the mods already in NMM are pulled out of the Manager and dumped? I have to down load them all over again? I purchased all kinds of note books so I would know what mods were lost. I have been doing this at least four of five years now. Ever since Skyrim came out in !!/!!/!!. My friends helped me set up a game folder on my PC and it helped with some mods; but most of the mods made by Authors use the NMM even with the so called Manual download they are not loaded into the game folder properly with out being pulled out later from opening up NMM again. I may be redundant several times in this text, and I ask that you forgive me. Only with NMM will some mods activate in the game. If I'm speaking a different language here please let me know and I will reword this for you.

Mr. Scott did not get what I was trying to tell him. Obviously he did not understand the problem. Every time my PC reboots I lose the NMM Icon from my desk-top. I have to try to bring it up again from Nexus, and when doing so I lose twenty or more mods. This has been going on ever since I joined Nexus. Why does this happen and why can't I load these mods into my Skyrim Game folder manually and they work like they should? I have followed all the steps and only some mods work. When they are loaded into my Game folder they just sit there and take up space. Others will work and are in the game. When I check to see if they are in my loot or Wrye folders they are either there or not there.

It makes me crazy when I hear others having this same problem. You're a programmer; please help me and my friends on Nexus with this crazy problem. And as a follower of Nexus why do you not teach us how to set up for Nexus to begin with? Trying to teach some of us without proper guide lines is like having the dumb teach the dumb. Why does NMM have to dump any mods at all when closing or opening it up? Thank you; Paul and I look forward to your helping us.
Sincerely,
James Roby (raum777)
Xander9009 wrote: Well, the easiest solution for such a persistent problem that you're apparently not getting sufficient help with is to abandon it and use something that works for you. Mod Organizer is a fantastic program that you should definitely check out. It's a bit slow to learn how it works, but don't be intimidated. If you have problems or questions, ask its users how to do something and you're likely to get a response. If you don't get a decent response here on its mod page, it has its own forums you can ask on, where you'll get responses from very knowledgeable users, and occasionally even its creator and maintainer. Good luck with getting your mods to cooperate.

As an aside, how come you seem to sign out of NMM instead of just leaving it signed in? (Or does it sign you out when it's closed? I haven't used it in years since I discovered Mod Organizer, so I don't remember...)

2016 and not using Mod Organizer. Not that I have something against NMM, but MO tho.... it's another world. Incredibly more polished and organized.
