I absolutely abhor most mobile optimized sites and use the desktop versions whenever possible. (Actually, I love the current site design - I would say don't fix what isn't broke. *smile*) Also, please, please, please don't do the trendy Pinterest look with lots of things crammed into little windows next to each other. It is harder to find any specific thing that way. I know it is the current popular thing to do but at least for me it makes everything more "noise" than content.
