alphatau
I noticed Morrowind, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 all use engines similar to Oblivion. Can you convert mod scripts from one of those 3 games into Oblivion? If not what tweaks would be required?
Quetzlsacatanango
Depends on the script. In general, newer games have more functions and commands that wouldn't work on older games.
HeyYou
Not to mention the entire syntax changed from morrowind to oblivion. You would have to completely re-write those scripts.
ub3rman123
And there are some functions that were in Morrowind that are noticeably lacking from Oblivion and successors (Grr, sound detection function). You'd have to prune those out.
David Brasher
I personally have converted a fair number of Morrowind scripts into Oblivion scripting language. You can cut and paste the script from one CS into the other, and then chop out all the bad stuff and add in replacement stuff that does the same thing in the proper language. A lot of the changes are just in what would be akin to "grammar" and "sentence structure." It is like the "nouns" and "verbs" are largely unchanged.
