Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2, Divinity: Original Sin are sort of open world, more set piece but matches 2/3 of your points. Gothic and Risen series also match 2/3 of your list but have a pre-set protagonist. I just want to know are you really steadfast with your criteria or are you willing to loosen your criteria a bit. The Division has RPG elements, idk how far they go. The fallout series are also open world and match all in your list.

I refuse to go anywhere near Dragon Age after they killed it, I tried Inquisition and it made my blood boil..from DA2 they dumbified it to a degree that is unbearable..oh,and the way they made Elves look like bloody Navvies with a fake Scottish accent..merde!!

Kingdoms of amalur is tried..no replay value

my criteria are not set in stone..what i do "Demand" though is being able to not follow a preset line of play,as in i have to be the good guy all the time..i think the interaction and depth of the universe and storyline more important than graphics

settings and soforth are minor detaails..but i admit that,if a game has X-Box UI.. i´m off

i´m not 14 and i did not grow up with a computer in my arms..closest thing was a typewriter..

OTOMH:

- Just Cause 2

- NWN2

- Saints Row: The Third

- Morrowind

- Mass Effect 1-3

- VTM: Bloodlines (absolutely get the community patch, and consider other mods to taste)

- anything from The Sims series (and if you want something explicitly more RPG-like, The Sims Medieval is probably where I'd start)

- Black & White 2 (probably also B&W1, but I haven't played it in so long I don't remember much of it)

- KOTOR

- Fallout series

All will have varying degrees of character customization, moddability, etc. Nothing will be 100% "non linear open world" because end of the day it has to be functional as a game; The Sims or Black & White are probably as close as you can get though, since they doesn't have any rigidly pre-determined starting or ending conditions, but they do still have rules. If you want a complete do-as-you-will sandbox you might consider Garry's Mod instead. If you're truly not interested in graphics and want excruciating depth and detail, look at Dwarf Fortress or Exanima. You might also keep an eye on Star Citizen/Squadron 42, if your machine is up to it.

I thank you all for the advice..i have decided to buy a crapload of the aforementioned games and then try them out..videos on youtube are not really any indicator of play-value..;-)

but,Again i thank you..now to spend some money..

Some of the games I suggested are available on GOG (Saints Row, Morrowind, some of Fallout, etc), some are Steam only (e.g. VTM), some can be had new/used on CD/DVD (Morrowind, KOTOR, Black & White, Fallout, etc). Generally I'd go with GOG where available because the installs are more portable (you don't have to use a client to run the games). For Mass Effect, I'd go with Origin - ME1 works fine on Steam, but ME2 "stand-alone" is not as clean as Origin (because BioWare Social Network has been superseded by Origin), and ME3 will require Origin anyways, so just do the trilogy package when it goes on sale (it happens fairly often) on Origin and save a few bucks and make everything uniform. cool.gif
