Strange console message

Hi All

 

First up - thanks for being a fantastic community of both modders, and supporters!

 

Odd thing in my console. It repeats the message "Checking Inventory, didn't find gem" over and over. I assume I've dropped something critical from the inventory but for the life of me I can't think what this "gem" is. The inventory works fine. Everything else works fine. I've tried using ConScribe to see where it might be coming from but I'm new to trying it and as yet not getting an obvious source of the message other than seeing it start up . The nearest clue I have are these lines:

 

All Natural Tamriel: Initialised

Fill is 1

Checking inventory

Didn't find gem

.......repeat to infinity.

 

I'm not aware of All Natural Weather (and similar) using a gem. Please, if anyone has an idea where and how I could dig into this further I'd truly appreciate your wisdom. The game runs OK, I just don't like this churning away in the background eating resources!

Nothing there really leaps out at me...... So...... Grab WinGrep. It is a utility that allows you to search for text within files. Do the search for "Gem Not Found", thru your data folder, it should tell you what mod contains that text.

BlueGunk: If you get TES4Edit, you might be able to see the problem. First time you run it, check lines in the right pane when it is finished loading. If you manage to get the load order fully loaded into TES4Edit, assuming that there is a fatal error in an esp you might not finish loading, check the lines for errors in the right. Then find the ID in the left, expand and click on the ID you find errors in, conflict info will be displayed in the right pane if "view" tab is clicked. "info" tab explains conflict colors. Good luck!

Thank you both for your replies! (I started to reply to HeyYou but my touchpad on my laptop went mental so I apologise if a weird reply appears before this one).

 

I ran WinGrep (thanks for link - excellent tool) and it looks like Companion Repair is the culprit. And that kind of makes sense. I cast it on CM Partners (and I have loads of them) so they auto-fix their own kit. But if some are carrying charged weapons and they have no soul gems...well there's the answer I think. So it's maybe not *my* inventory, but their inventories bouncing the message back.

 

Anyway - I can easily check this out and follow it up.

 

And if that does not work, I'll try the TES4Edit option. I've got that handy already, so it's another bendy educational experience (a learning curve).

 

Hopefully my problem is solved, or close to it. Thanks both! I'll pop kudos points up.
