Today recently ArmA 3 was announced by Bohemia Interactive, which is to be released in Summer of 2012. Defiantly a long wait, hopefully worth it.

Looking at screenshots it looks like it is a bit in the future, a bit more than the ArmA 2 series.

Wow, the screens look amazing. I've never played ArmA, but I've some pretty good things about it. I might try it out one day.

That reminds me. I bought ArmA II about a year and a half ago. Installed it and played up to the point where I needed to do an auto-rotation maneuver in a helicopter for training but found it impossible to pull off with just a keyboard. I needed a new joystick for my new computer (all my joysticks used joystick ports and the PC had none). I looked around and did not find anything I wanted at the time, however, I recently purchased a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick which means I should be able to install that game and get back on it. :)

But alas, I'm finding very little time at my computer recently and I need to crank out a couple mods before I go down a bunny trail.

These screenshots look fantastic and they still have over a year to go for release!!! wow. I bought ArmA II to see if I could model the terrain around my home and do some Red Dawn simulations to see how many I could hold off.

EDIT: Here is a trailer for ArmA II just so those that have not seen or heard about it can get a glimpse of what it looks like. It is a battlefield simulation more than a run-n-gun shooter.
