Ah, sounds like a fun place to visit..... and given the climate, I don't think I would mind living their either....... Not in the party towns though..... fun once in a while, but, certainly not on a daily basis......

If you get along well with her, love her, and she feels the same, by all means, go for it. :D

Ibiza is an island near Spain, Spanish territory to my knowledge, capital is Eivissa, hot climate, borderline desert, major export is salt, major revenue source is tourism, legalised gambling.

Ibiza is, quite simply, the party capital of this part of the world, it's extremely beautiful, just big enough to cram in a bunch of stuff to do, and not yet turned into the sort of disgusting, baccinine hellscape of places like Macau. For a resort island, Ibiza's pretty civilised, when you look at places like Macau, where 80% of the population is in some way employed in the gambling industry, and 88% of the islands are covered by facilities related to gambling, Ibiza really is a paradise-it's by no means perfect, but as resort islands go it's a good choice. The reason being that unlike places like Singapore and Macau, it's still largely habitable-they havent built over the entire island yet, and that'sa why people still come here.

Resort towns usualy are like models: beautiful when they're young, horror stories once they reach their thirties. Macau is probably the world's worst example, once a very beautiful stretch of coastline, Macau was bulldozed flat, the entire coastline sunk into the sea to make way for the world's single largest casinos. Gaudily lit, and a disgustying parody of the already foul vegas strip, Cotai is now completely lost under a sea of skycraper sized casinos catering to more than ten million chinese every year. And just thirty years ago it was a paradise.

Image related, this was taken along the coast of Portinatx a few years ago, near the Punta Moscarter lighthouse.
