Tutorial For Creating Standalone Weapons and FX?

I want to add a new weapon but have a hard time finding where the textures go and assigning its properties from different files to the weapon I am creating. The only way I know how is to override original files and that I do not want to do. I want to use the format of an original file such as the molotov but change its fx and mesh without affecting the molotov. Please direct me to a tutorial

How do I make a BGSM file?

You might also want to download and Pick apart my Beantown Interiors "The Mad Bomber's Workshop" I've been doing just about exactly what your asking about. I have around 10 new explosives released in it. I even have a Nuka Cocktail based on the Molotov.

 

Edit: I didn't make a custom FX for the Nuka Cocktail but I did do one for a Flatware bomb which works like the bottlecap mine but has knives, Forks and Spoons as shrapnel. You can also pick them back up after using the bomb. :dance:

Elianora has a tutorial too, idk if it's in the pinned thread yet. Something like How to make a standalone mod. Damn it, I can't find it again, in her channel, but I found it in a thread here...too tired right now, but I didn't know you could edit UVs in nifskope, now I have to look at that tutorial too...I can check uvs then that way...interesting.

The pinned thread Fallout 4 Modding Tutorials has about everything thats been made so far tutorial wise.

Id check out MikeMoore's video that is linked in the thread, as it at least shows start to finish a standalone weapon being made.

pretty cool, will do. I just want to recreate the undead bait from Red Dead Redemption and show it to my fellow RDR fans. I wanted to add an effect that humbled or turned ghouls.

Everything is tutorials on armor though, I just want to do weapons and follow it step by step.

Can I ask what bottle from FO3/NV you wanted to use in the first place? You could always put out an asset request it's possible that someone has already made the bottle or would be willing to try to make one for you.
