ZsoSahal
easier to use setavEasier now, perhaps. Easier several different playthroughs down the road? Unlikely. The easiest no hassle way to fix this is to reinstall, and pay more attention to your load order as you SLOWLY add more mods.
bladexdsl
has absolutely NOTHING to do with that. i have over 200 hours in with no problems. and provisioners CAN die Edited February 29, 2016 by bladexdsl
ZsoSahal
Yes, they can. If you kill them, or somehow, their protected flag is removed by a bug. So, either you're shooting rockets all over the place and killing them as collateral damage, or you have have bug. Most likely caused by a mod, or load order issue. If you don't want to take advice on how to fix it, that is your problem, not ours.
bladexdsl
activate CSE and follow a provisioner along their route and do nothing when they are attacked and see what happens  Edited February 29, 2016 by bladexdsl
ZsoSahal
I did. I specified that there are two ways for them to die. One, is for you to kill them. The other is for them two have their protected flag removed, or rarely, bypassed (by an environmental explosion for example). As for the bit about settlers not being essential on survival... thats BS. I've got 800hrs in survival alone. Can confirm, provisioners still immortal. So, you can either keep b****ing about how its not your fault, its not your load order, or a mod, or you can fix it. By batch elimination like I recommended, or a the very least, fixing your load order so there isn't stuff obviously out of place. No guarantees either will work. If you game is actually corrupted, you can verify the file integrity. If you disable all mods, and your provisioners are still dying, then i'd recommending a fresh install. Klipperken
SETAV health will still make um die once the health bar is down. So, not the best optiom for immortality. But that's my thought. You can do both y'now, and give them a nuke launcher and whatnot.Give them a power armor, aswell... BEST way is through FO4Edit, as I mentioned in the very beginning. Jollyfingers
provisioners are not protected they will die. seen it happen many times. i'm not using any mods that alter this it's a vanilla feature. strange, never lost a provisioner to NPCs.i see them getting attacked near settlements quite often. they go down and stand up just like every other settler. only once one died... and that was when i shot some explosive rounds too close to him ;)
Klipperken
Yes, people and explosions aren't that great a mix, really... Odd eh?
mac2636
activate CSE and follow a provisioner along their route and do nothing when they are attacked and see what happens :tongue:What is CSE.esp from? Your load order is still jacked up. Did you follow Wax2k's guide? You really should try to be friendlier and more polite towards those trying to help you. Moraelin
has absolutely NOTHING to do with that. i have over 200 hours in with no problems. and provisioners CAN die Even the comments in that link, if you had bothered to actually read them, tell you that yes, provisioners ARE flagged as protected in the .esm and no, most people haven't seen them die when the player wasn't involved. But that would involve, you know, READING what people who actually looked with FO4Edit into it are telling you. Repeating the same bogus assertions about how the game REALLY works one more time won't make them true. We're not in The Hunting Of The Snark and you're not the Bellman. "Just the place for a Snark!" the Bellman cried, As he landed his crew with care; Supporting each man on the top of the tide By a finger entwined in his hair. "Just the place for a Snark! I have said it twice: That alone should encourage the crew. Just the place for a Snark! I have said it thrice: What I tell you three times is true."
