Skyrim In-Depth Races?

basically this thread is to ask everyone how in-depth besthesda is going to cover the races, and make them unique every game. in oblivion argonians could breath under water, and most every oblivion game the cats are very agile. but what else could/should bethesda do to add more diversity and realism to the races? your thoughts ?

Since it's in Skyrim, I would hope Nord's keep natural defenses against cold/ice based attacks/effects. Maybe even have a slight weakness to fire, since they prefer colder climates to begin with. I don't remember what information has already been posted in regards to races (if at all), so I'm speaking merely out of speculation and desired results.

yes i think the nord is immune to frost spells. this has just been an ongoing attribute since the start of elder scrolls. but new attributes like.. the cat races walk 10% faster, and run 15% faster? maybe have +5 to hand to hand due to their claws. argonians sheds new skin every month? if their tail is chopped off they can grow another one? (since i know we can cut off limbs like fallout) imperials can ride horses faster? or can load more stuff in their horses because they rein in much of the mercantile system. individual perks perhaps depending on your race. dummer elf doesn't need the perk to slow down time on your bow because they are natural bowmen. stuff like that

I miss the 75% resistant to shock on Nords from Morrowind. That was literally, the biggest disappoint I faced when I made my first character.

Well since Agility not longer exists IDK about being more agile minus a slight increase. But I hope races are more in depth maybe ORCs are stronger and take more damage. I don't know well have to wait and see.

The races need to feel different. In Oblivion, they simply have different stats: nothing else changes whatsoever.

Skyrim needs to have BIG differences, even something like different animations for each race, or special attacks that are made up from combining your race with the skills you use (and birthsign) ect.

I don't think every single race will have radically unique animations, that would quadruple the work.

Just have small changes with their animations (Orcs move a bit slower and steadier, elves move more agilic, beasts tails are animated )

I don't think the combat anims for each race will be unique for each one either.

as for the Nords i'd keep the frost resistance and greater power and such, but they should be mildy weak against fire (they're not furry, they don't have to have to be completely vulnerable against fire)

I think the races in Skyrim will be truly unique.Since the attributes are gone each race will have different hp/magika/stamina starting levels, for an example and orc will start with the greatest amount of hp that means they will be the only race who can achieve the maximum amount of hp in game and not like in oblivion where every race can get max hp/magika/stamina stats by maximizing their attributes. And the rest of unique abilities will be implemented using perks or maybe it will be like in oblivion ...using permanent magic effects but i put my money on unique perks since there are more versatile. Also i believe the unique spells and powers will be back ,i just hope to be truly unique and not just some renamed ordinary spells.Probably there will also be bonuses skills for each race but this is less important since each race can maximize their skills or maybe it will encourage the player to take a certain path :warior/mage/stealth or hybrids. Anyway i believe Skryrim character customization will be much better than the oblivon one.
