Scripting Weapons and armor... Help!

Hiya, I have no idea how to script weapons and armor so I and asking how to do it here. I have something very specific in mind. I want to script a favorite sword of mine and it's shield counterpart to shield as a 2handed weapon On my back the same way that Nico's Scimitars and Nico's Gift does. Could I just copy and paste the script from the nico's mods to my weapons?

This does not sound like it would use any scripting. It sounds more like a modeling challenge and task requiring careful adjustment of settings.

 

You would not be able to just copy a script and place it on some other weapons and armor.

As I said, I have no talent or experience at this whatsoever... This, I really have no idea what u guys are talking about. The extent of my abilities with the CS extends to putting items I want into a chest and the chest into the tamriel worldspace and adding hairs and eyes into races that I favor. That's why I asked for help lol. XD

Well, this here does not have to do with scripting.

 

You'll need to do two things;

1) Go into the cs (appropriate mod), find you weapon, and change it from 1H to 2H.

2) Open the mesh and change some detail setting which I am not sure about (iirc, something like change Bip01 into Bip02) which changes the the actual mesh.

 

Though you would have to find someone to do step two (as I have been told it's easy, but that is not my department) if shouldn't be too hard.

Here is how it works.

 

1). Open Nifskope

2). Change a 1h weapon to 2h.

3). In Nifskope, change the NIFs Sideweapon string to Backweapon

4). Add Bip01 L ForearmTwist as a NiNode.

 

Done. That should work.

You may want to look at the scripts on the Afinity sword mod, maybe it has something alike you want and be used as template.

 

The scripts use several resources, as noticing when the player enters combat mode, get stats from the foes and so on. Obse is required, but almost all special effects you may want will need it anyway.

 

PS: everything in the mod is prefixed by RWL to ease identification/location.
