vale5893
So, again, I'm new to the mod world. I was playing Oblivion earlier today and I decided I would get some mods. I have OBMM and OBSE (I was told these are pretty much necessary for certain mods, yes?) and also quite a few mods. I changed my mod order based on what I had read was good, but still the same issue. The game opens up, displays the IV and maybe a second of music, then boom. Closes and doesn't come back up. Even when I only had the official DLC enabled. I wonder if maybe my copy of Oblivion is reading the mods without OBMM and running them in its own order and that's screwing it up. Could that be right? I'm sure I'm overlooking something extremely simple or something, but any help would be appreciated. Below that is just the rest of the DLC, with Knight.esp at the bottom. Thanks. Flintlockecole
Might be that CM partner's is 2.0 and your using a 1.9 version yet again I could be wrong.
MichikoUnknownFox
You should rearrange that load order. Use this nifty little tool. It'll arrange your load order for you. It'll also give you some tips and advice on what mods to update, activate or deactivate, and what mods are incompatible with each other.
eric31415
You need to deactivate OOO.Cobl and MMM.Cobl, since you don't use either OOO or MMM.If this doesn't fix the problem, deactivate Salmo. He causes the same problem for me.When you add new mods, do so one at a time, run BOSS, and test the mod ingame. That way, when you run into the inevitable mod issues, you will know what caused it. I'd also recommend installing all your mods as OMODs. When you deactivate an OMOD, all parts of it are removed from your data folder. This makes OBMM the safest way to install new mods, but there are other benefits. For example, OBMM doesn't handle changes in load order very well if you install a bunch of stuff manually( I ended up with lots of missing meshes this way once). It's pretty easy to convert a mod to an OMOD, but if you need help getting started, i'd be happy to walk you through the first one. Make sure you launch the game from the OBSE loader. Out of curiosity, what copy of the game do you have? And is it version 1.2.0416? Edited May 31, 2011 by eric31415
vale5893
I got it all figured out. I unistalled everything and started over to find that there were a few things in the readme's that I wasn't seeing. Things to uncheck, remove, etc. Thanks, guys.
