ok so there are no errors that would cause your game to crash

BUT

all of that unused data in the first post of FO4Edit could very well be causing game bloat and / or CTD's

you might want to consider cleaning each mod from Post 99 that FO4Edit listed with unused data, male sure to check each mods description page for any authors warning not to clean their mods

"usually" unused data is something the mod author was working on adding to the mod, then decided not to use it, or they scrapped the idea, problem with that is it can cause all kinds of problems in the game - CTD's, lag, freezes and so on

The first couple weeks I started heavilly downloading mods for FO4 I spent most of the time cleaning out dirty edits and rebuilding/removing entries with missing references from supposed highly recommended, very popular mods. I mean, doesn't it just make sense as a modder to have a 'build/experiment' version of a mod and a 'release' version without those unfinished entries?

so as far as i know, cleaning a mod is applying filter for cleaning, maybe undeleting, and removing identical to masters. i tried all of this and it didnt change anything/ didn't prompt to save file. no changes for my issue.

i feel like if i want to have a stable modded fo4 i need a degree in computer skience. lul

@ jdrfox - since mod authors know how finnicky fo4 is i'd think they'd choose to have a cleaned up release version too

@ch33zybr3ad I think at this point you need someone who is more experienced than myself

my suggestion is to make a new CLEAN save right outside the vault, with no mods, not even the unofficial patch

then add 1 mod at a time and test, any problems you encounter can be fixed on a mod by mod basis

T_T the gods have spoken. thanks for your help though. we tried.

i would do the one by one method but since the issues i've encountered are a random mystery and occur well after any installation, my confidence is at a solid 0.4%

anyone know if modding new vegas is more stable?

Hi Gromulos, ...the old fart has returned.

I've spent 4 days researching how to keep my game from CTD (again). After having fixed the issue last time, I was all proud, feeling confident, and recently added a few mods. Now, you see an exhausted and bleary-eyed wreck of man before you, hanging his head in defeat.

I have 29 fairly common Mods (on top of the DLC's), have used all of the tools (F4SE, LOOT, Wrye Bash, and F4Edit). rewatched all of Gopher's videos, read the tutorials, and still can't resolve this issue.

Could I please PM you the mod order list and see if I'm missing anything really obvious or get a suggestion on how I should order them?

Thank you!
