CybrSlydr
So, I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan. We have an internet cafe with some computers so we can surf the net. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to plug my computer into it so I can activate the game (I have the Collector's Edition from Amazon). Is there a way I can skip the activation part to play? If a mod or someone of stature (someone who can fix my problem) wants to verify my CD key, I'll be glad to post it up in PM. Thanks! Can't wait to play! micalov
Any way to bypass the DRM would not be allowed to be linked or discussed here if there is one, even with your being deployed sadly. If you are deployed atm, goodluck and stay say!

If you are deployed atm, goodluck and stay say! I assumed as much, since almost all forums follow this procedure. Though, since patch 1.1 removes DRM, I figured there might be an exception. No such luck? And thanks for the wishes - I have some pics from my deployment, if you'd like to see what rural (ha!) Afghanistan looks like. Dark0ne
Great photos :) I have no clue how the activation system works as I don't have the game yet (too busy with others!) but is there any way you can get a friend to activate it for you? Or do you need to activate it on the PC you're using?
CybrSlydr
I'm assuming I need to activate it on the computer I'm using - it'll launch and ask for the code, so unless my computer could talk with the servers to realize it's activated and skip that part, I'm SOL. Glad you like the pics. :)

JimboUK
You can use the executable from the GOG version, this was asked on GOGs forum and someone from CDP said it was fine.
CybrSlydr
Ooo! Where can I get that .exe? Anywhere legit and bug-free??
JimboUK
There's a link in this steam thread.. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1905486 Doesn't the 1.1 patch remove all the DRM anyway?
CybrSlydr
It does, but I don't have internet where I could download the patch - the MWR computers max out at like 60kb/s and we only get 30min of time on the computer. Thanks for the link!
