TheLozza Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) My mate has been working on a model ak-47 and gave it to me to touch up. Its detailed but is very thin. How can I stretch the model outwards so it looks a bit wider than it is in the picture here below. ]http://www.imageupload.org/?d=E12A0DBE1 Edited June 2, 2011 by TheLozza
LHammonds Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Have you tried scaling along the X axis with the verts you want expanded?
TheLozza Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 Looking for it, where about is the X axis option after I've highlighted all verts?
Ghogiel Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 it's on the "transform gizmo" http://harrysite.net/works/megatut/scale.jpg red is for X. though we have no idea of that models orientation in world space so it could be Y, which is the green one.
Isilmeriel Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 press x if you dont see that gizmo. also, make sure you go to utilities tab and reset xform before you export to games like oblivion or you might get issues after scaling.
Ghogiel Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 press x if you dont see that gizmo. also, make sure you go to utilities tab and reset xform before you export to games like oblivion or you might get issues after scaling.you wont add world space transforms when scaling(or rotating/translation) in the subobject level. But it can't hurt, but collapse it or the nif exporter reads/treats that as a transform controller or something...

But he's still learning how to scale objects... one thing at a time :)
