I tried whitelisting nexusmods on my adblock, but after a few days i got redirected to another website, bet365.dk, sorry to say, but that is too much for me and i stand by principle to turn my adblock on again, not because i do not wish to pay, but i WILL NOT support a website that cannot get their ads under control.

I dunno about you guys but if you use chrome or firefox the flash player will always be a issue to people without a strong pc and i know since whenever i try playing some youtube vids the web browser will tend to slow down if you use flash instead of html player but eh im a bit off topic k right on topic. so i have some experience on some of those intrusive ads also and i also use adblocker but only used on my less untrusted sites but nexus is one of my most trusted sites list here but yea it really is a issue on those auto playing ads blaring out your ears its really unnecessary and those redirects is annoying aswell if u like to read the modders info about the mod they made and seeing of what changes has been made then all of a sudden a redirect or a ear blaster comes on well that really kills the moment and we all know the advertisers want the attention to promote those products and stuff some of that stuff we don't even need unless its a targeted ad well its annoying but i got patience and a great one at that so yea well if a ad with redirects or a ear blaster comes on kill it with a report heh

Is it possible to turn ads back on after becoming a supporter so that I can support the site more? I don't mind ads on sites that don't abuse it. If your policy on ads is as in the OP, then I don't mind leaving the ads on.

Yeah, but consider what other words might accompany "WebMD" in a Google search, and at what frequency. The scope of Internet advertising is broad, if not lazy. Edited by aggressor27

My problem with ads and this site in general is that it seems to be very slow fairly often. I don't know if it has something to do with other users, or maybe you need to clean your machines. In any case, on them days, like today, this site is very slow for me. And the ads, do not help it at all. This particular instance however, seems to not matter whether i have ad block on or not. ( I only turn adblock on, when the ads are really dragging down the speed of the site, or are very annoying. I however keep it off for sites like this, because I know the revenue is needed. ) So I don't know, what is going on over there on days like today. Keep in mind my internet speed is not the issue, 50mbps takes care of that. I'm just asking, if I feel an ad is bogging down this site, would I be right to report it?

Special note to advertisers, I've sworn off products based on what you show me in an ad. Keep that in mind, if you want anything in my wallet.

I'm a supporter member, and therefore don't see ads. I feel terrible that for spending a couple of quid 2 or 3 years ago I'm now something of a "freeloader". I'd like the option to see the usual ads everyone else sees when logged into my account, as a way of further supporting the site. Perhaps you can add a check-box in the user control panel to let users opt-in to seeing ads regardless of their user status. I don't want any extra benefits for doing so, because I feel like we'd just be "trading" rather than me giving you something. You already provide an amazing website with amazing mods, your side of the deal is done as far as I'm concerned.

I can't believe it costs over half a million quid to run this site. I can't even fathom those numbers, I would have guessed it'd cost about 50 grand, that's how naïve I am. Let me turn on ads at the very least!

I will whitelist this site on my adblocker. I cannot fully turn it off, as other sites I visit contain ads that could have viruses (one site I use frequently I KNOW does this), so you'll have to be happy with a whitelisting. If an ad from Nexus causes damage to my PC, hardware or software, you will be paying for the repairs.

I don't understand whats so disturbing or "Adult" about that, it's just biology. And certainly isin't pornographic. "My first thought when I saw those 2 ads displayed was " Is this really material that should be on a games website?" You do realise this site host pornographic material right? I fail to see the surprise you experienced. Edited by bubbanole91
