sissyfoo
Hi All, I've been at this for some time now and I've about given up. I installed Deadly Reflexes 6.0 and followed the instructions to the letter but could not get it to work at all. This was with a fresh install of Oblivion. After much detective work I managed to trace the problem to the OBGEv2. The problem is that when OBGE is installed and I run the game using OBSE loader the game starts up normally but then when it gets to the scrolling map screen, instead of bringing up the menu screen as normal it just stays on the scrolling map and nothing happens. My system setup is as follows: Windows 7 64bit4gb RAMDirectX 11Nvidia GeForce GTS240OBSE v20OBGEv2Oblivion Patch 1.2.00.416 (or something) Any thoughts on what could be causing the problem? It is driving me nuts because I can't see anything wrong with my set up. :( I'd appreciate any suggestions on how I can get it to work. Many thanks, Sissyfoo :)
rededge
You do realise that when you install OBGE for the first time and start the game, it takes an age (well, a minute or so...) to actually work ,as OBGE will load every shader, and then you have to go into the OBGE options ingame and disable the shaders that you don't want by selecting each shader and pressing ctrl. MichikoUnknownFox
Yup, rededge is right, that's normal. It's in the readme, in fact, which you really should read (and make a habit of reading all readmes from now on). Don't panic. Just let it continue. Don't ctrl + alt + del or anything. When it eventually finishes loading (it took me over 3 minutes actually lol), you can get into the game and disable the shaders you don't want to use. You can also try using the shaderlist.txt option, which is trickier and uncustomizable in-game. But it'll prevent loading unnecessary shaders, thus cutting your loading time down. sissyfoo
I feel like a right pratt. I normally read these things very carefully but somehow I missed those vital 3 words which would have explained the problem. In the end I had to create my own OBGE.ini file and make the change there before I could get it to work. Not quite as cut and dry as you might think but it worked at last. Cheers. MotoSxorpio
Well done, sissyfoo. I love when the readme is encrypted o_O
