monoto7
not exactly something someone would usually ask, but missing mesh signs, deformed characters(from physics crapping out), and unnatural sights(purple meshes of cabbages and black...EVERYTHING,purple rain(oddly the purple rain INSTANTLY happened after i talked to ruined-tale for the first time and the rest of the unnatural sights did when i fasttraveled to that inn(i turned off oblivion(that was five mins ago...)))) make me feel...not exactly sick but disgusted, repusled, and i dunno...i cant explain it. i know this is the wrong place to ask it...but this has only ever happened with oblivion(ive never had that feeling before.) so, is there something wrong with me? The cure is fixing the mods. i know but it makes me feel sick, not sick of doing it wrong but sick because its unnatural... plus with over 100 mods and adding any new mods usually makes oblivion crash on startup(i have no idea why(this includes even the smallest of mods!)) i cant reinstall or mess arround with ma mod order much(for fear of permanently ruining oblivion(it would be the 8th time ive reinstalled because of this happening(even with BOSS) and i really like errr...cant remember what there called ()'s <---those things
LFact
Some tips:1. If your OS is Windows Vista or higher, do not install your game under C:\Program Files(x86)\, unless you want to mess with UAC.2. Patch your game to latest version. If you have GoTY, installing Disc 2 will do it.3. Always check the requirement when you install any mod. And missing master causes crash on desktop at start.4. Make sure you installed resources required by the mod you have correctly.5. BOSS, OBMM, and Wrye Bash will help you when you have to manage many mods. Building bashed patch is a 'must' if your mod has any record to be merged to work with other mods.

Oh, and don't forget - installing the latest patch can actually cause the purple ground problem for some users...something to do with missing textures/texture maps. There's actually a really easy fix for it...and I think I might have downloaded it on here. The problem may not be as hard to fix as you might imagine, even with your 100+ mods! As for the missing textures...they could all be from different mods, but again, in modding Oblivion, fixing those things was easier for me than so many other things...you might be surprised! :)

If you still have such issue, you need to get official 1.2.x shaders.

I'm no Wrye Bash expert so I can't say for sure, but with that many mods it's inevitable that you probably have a couple that need merged into the bashed patch. Without a blessing from an expert, *I* won't tell you to try it out, but I don't *think* it'll hurt anything.....will it, guys? ^^;; I'd say your best bet is to try RefScope - it allows you to identify what exactly is missing by hovering over it. Usually most of your missing textures are probably only coming from two or three places (especially with something like Better Cities, for example). The missing meshes themselves might take a little legwork, but...it's worth it, I think. :) Edited June 10, 2011 by LadyAubrie
MichikoUnknownFox
Yeah with that many mods it's pretty much impossible to not have conflicts, unless you're just dealing with simple custom weapons and armors. But even then it's possible to get conflicts. I have 149 active mod files (.esp/.esm), and more that have been merged/imported into my bashed patch. Without Wrye Bash, the game will absolutely not run. Or have other anomalies like invisible bodies, googly eyes, and missing meshes. I tried it lol.
