Deleted472477User
I couldn't care less so I didn't vote, but I am curious about this 'immersion' thing and how it only ever seems to curiously cater to one ubiquitous element.... So I'm proposing a scat mod instead for some "realism" It'd be so realistic if a character actually pees or craps in his pants when he's about to kick the bucket :woot: or inconveniently has to dash to the riverbank (interupting his banging session with that girl with pointy ears and footballs on her chest ) amid a cacophony of splattering and rasps as the undercooked food/disease/infection kicks in... :teehee: I'd love to see the gamers of today cope with pen and paper games ;) Oh and remember! Everybody who's ever going to play Skyrim anywhere ever is reading this thread so your vote counts! *does a spit take* ROFL! There's is such a thing as TOO much realism in games. Reminds me of a post on the Dwarf Fortress forums about whether the creator would add outhouses and sewers. Footballs? The fact that bras go up to an M cup in places frightens me. The BBB modders would have to add in a wheelbarrow to haul those babies! Or a skateboard to scoot on, because with that chest and the mod lower body, she could only scoot around on her tummy :D But back to nudity in Skyrim, I do like it, it'd be nice, but along with my earlier reason I stated, I'd prefer to see the modders handle it. Whether or not I agree with the stylings, I can appreciate the skill and talent going into it. Just as long as Bethesda doesn't give us horrible undies again, I'm happy. Hateshinai
Ah of course there must be a topic about the most important thing in video games. I'm curious would any of you be even thinking about it if the only 3 races in Skyrim turned out to be Orcs, Khajiit and Argonians or maybe thats just what you are hoping for? Siriously if thats the only reason you want to play the game for then instead of buying the game go buy a porn movie or if it simply must be a game then buy one for adults. Oh jeez! FireBug2
While I have nothing against nudity, I don't think it should be included. I think it is inappropriate and is in bad taste in a professional environment. Besides, there are children in this game. Think of the npc children! Ya think about all those poor pixels and polygons, sure lack of clotches may hurt imagnary feelings of your imagnary friends, but you see, not all of us are paranoid schizophrenics. games are cheap, even with all tose shiny effects, we cant give up game details just because of some retarded people, this game is 18+ and we need all the details we can get to make this game experience worth your time. So, nudity? Yes! another cheap standart crap? No!
Yamcakes
I don't mind either way, I am just hoping the default male underwear doesn't look like a nasty soiled sumo diaper this time.
monkeyboi
ideally i would like the best of both worlds, where a character would be completely nude - when appropriate - like prostitutes (if any), romance (if any), characters where it would fit the personality, and even if it would fit a quest well. I imagine a quest/ random encounter where you would be walking in the wilderness and you hear a cry for help. you approach the sound and see a unfortunate traveler completely nude (covering himself humorously, of course.) and you simply escort him to safety. simple things like that, i don't want every single body i loot to end up nude. Cursed by a mysterious witch, no doubt. (In Morrowind this actually happened)
Arkayjiya
(In Morrowind this actually happened) It happens multiples times actually xD, well to times and a private joke if I remember correctly. I'm pro-nudity. I mean, nudity is part of reality... If the game is gonna be "mature", there isn't the problem of children playing it (if it's not, it's another problem) Of course I want nudity to be used correctly, the quest behind is funny, prostitutes are a good idea too, or having sex with your husband/wife could be immersive. I don't want to run into a naked NPC without a good reason (and I would like if my character could have some undrwear he/she could remove. Because in the mods for oblivion, you had to choose between underwear and nudity. When I change my clothes, I often want to keep my underwear but when I cross a river, I would prefer to remove them by example) Edited July 10, 2011 by Any_ILL
SoggyWaffle
I think there shouldn't be. If they did do it, it would come out horribly and mods will always do a better job.
Corakus
@SoggyWaffle While I do agree that nudity shouldn't be included in the game, I don't think that's a good reason for doing it.If they stopped adding in features just because modders could do it better, then they're is a lot that they wouldn't add in.Modders always seem to find a way to fix things that Bethesda breaks. Well, if it is legal issues that go against nudity... 1) It will probably be a mature game anyways and parents should be smart enough to NOT buy their kids mature games but they still bought games like GTA iV with hookers and gun violence, also bashing heads in with baseball bats. 2) The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of video games First Amendment Rights. I agree with what someone before said, nudity is a part of gaming. I love Bethesda games but what I thought their games have been missing is real romance, something Bioware seems to be the only corporation not afraid to try to tackle (no double meaning intended about male bits) and they do it in a classy, non-raunchy or penthouse styled way. There are some bits seen, some flesh, but it's all actually a little artistic and it makes you feel closer to your character you're playing. You see they have a heart and they want romance, it makes them more lifelike. That is why I can't feel really attached to any of my Bethesda characters. I had fun in the games but there was just a certain level of depth I couldn't get into because they were more like robots than people. And personally? Yes, I think the modding community can do a great job on all of this but I'd prefer the company that makes the game to set the bar for things like romance and nudity and if it isn't high enough, have the modding community raise the bar and make improvements. I've seen romance added to games by modders but it's not the same, especially if the people lack a voice.
