nexusmodacc
Greetings, I haven't been using NVN.com for several months, and now, when I've decided to replay the game with both DLC-packs I've found out that I cannot access/ping newvegasnexus.com. I did some googling and had found out that there was a DDoS attack which had led to various massive subnet bans, however I've failed to find an explicit banlist. Therefore: is or is not Latvia IP-range banned? If so, then would if be possible to unban 2 real IPs, which belong to me and are binded to my devices MAC-addresses? Posting this from behind a proxy: 177.38.***.***, from 217.199.***.*** (which I'd prefer to be unbanned)
micalov
If your actual account was not banned and an IP ban was put in place, if your have been using NV nexus for a few months, how come you only signed up Today?
nexusmodacc
Suspicions suspicions.date 28 February 2011 04:48subject Registration at The Nexus ForumsFrom my mail upon first reg. I can not remember the pass I had used and because of the proxy I can not change it (Cookies redirect, php-scripts etc). I coudn't access nor ping the site as well as download ANYTHING with or without out an account from ANY PC from 7 places where I've been today. So I'd like to ask you graciously to drop your childish speculations and contextual accusations. I cant even get the administration email from the link on the page with "#1074 unauthorized to view ..." due to javascript limitations on the proxy (presumably). Now then. Anyone else mind actually helping on the matter? 1: Administration email2: Knows for sure why and if Latvia is banned. 3: Why only from newvegasnexus.com? Other nexus sites work flawlessly. I can't belive I'm doing all this just for 6 addons, damn it. Edited June 16, 2011 by nexusmodacc
Dark0ne
I banned the IP ranges of a specific Latvian ISP because DoS attempts were coming from the ISP and they didn't feel the need to do anything about it, as there's no laws against DoS'ing servers in Latvia. There are laws against it here, though, and I'll do anything in my power to prevent them. I suggest you write to your ISP about it.
micalov
Was not accusations or speculations, was curiosity. EDIT: rest removed, unneeded since Dark0ne replied. Edited June 16, 2011 by micalov
nexusmodacc
Thank you for your reply and time. So I won't be accessing nexusvegas.com anytime soon then? I've contacted several people from different areas of the city I live in with different ISPs and they cannot access the site as well. As far as I know Latvia does not have a lot of real IPs, and here common practice is as follows: large companies buy the traffic and a small range of IPs, and sell them to smaller firms, who have 100-200 clients at most in their subnet. This makes me think that you may have banned the entire country outright. Hence the question: may I get the before mentioned IP address unbanned? It is a real IP, mine IP. Has no faulty records if to check with google. Sincerely,
Dark0ne
If you can give me specific IP addresses without wild-cards (i.e. xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with no asterix's) then yes, I can make an exception in the router, firewall rules and IP tables...if not, then I'm afraid no is the answer. Enyap
If you can give me specific IP addresses without wild-cards (i.e. xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with no asterix's) then yes, I can make an exception in the router, firewall rules and IP tables...if not, then I'm afraid no is the answer. Could I please make exception like the OP here? Im from Latvia and since Im unable to connect NV nexus unless using proxy and I haven't really done anything worthy of ban I suspect I have the same situation. NINJ4R4BBID
1.) I'm in the same boat as nexusmodacc and Enyap... i also live in now from Nexus effectively banned Latvia (tried with few different ISPs problem is some smaller ISPs buy IP ranges from bigger ISPs).2.) What makes matters worse is that i have DSL connection with dynamic IP (that very rarely but can change). So my question is could we please figure out some way for me to be able to access The Nexus Forums/Sites (im posting this by using an web proxy but i cant use it to access sites because it disables scripts)?
