Lehcar
I've searched and been unable to find any up to date information... when the heck is the official mod tool going to be released? It heard it said it was going to be April, now we're a week into April and I have heard nothing about it.

DarthWayne
Probably within one week after the 2nd DLC release. In april does not necessarily mean beginning of april ;-)
Mavkiel
They did mention before the second dlc. I get the feeling it will be a few seconds before. It'd stop us pc users from complaining about the workshop dlc, as we would be playing with our new toy. It'd also stop console complaining about the geck, as they will be busy with the dlc. Or is that cynical of me? :P
robhartman9
give the big kids and the dribblers their toys at the same time? Makes sense to me
vTemporalZEROv
I heard before or alongside the 2nd DLC, so MOST LIKELY, not for sure, but the biggest chance is before next tuesday :) #GeckGameTooStrong
zanity
The timing of the 'survival' beta, and the fact it DISABLES existing mods is suspicious as heck. These 'horse armour' DLCs are making Zenimax an absolute fortune, whereas Zenimax sees the GECK as a potential LOSS to the company. The "sorry guys, releasing the GECK now would interfere with the proper testing and deployment of 'updates' " is an excuse made in heaven for Beth, and I fear we are on the verge of hearing it. Again, DLC 2 would have be perceived as an utter JOKE if the GECK was currently in play, and even DLC 1 would have been bettered by free story mods had the GECK been available from day one. Only the giant new region DLC would clearly be beyond the modding community, and Beth/Zenimax know this. Beth already said that DLC1/2/3 were only the BEGINNING of DLC content for FO4- so we already know Beth plans more 'horse armour' class paid DLC. Of course, complicating things is Beth's desire to monetise modding on the consoles- but in reality this is such a can of worms compared to official DLC, I'd be suprised if it ever happens. Most still don't own HF dlc from Skyrim, horse armor, or oblivion dlc houses. Like myself (expect HF.) years later since they think it worthless still. Many today did not buy DLC01 since they don't care, waiting for mods or waiting for sales and patches. And is it really that bad the beth is willing to work to get our money instead of relying on modders for such non quest major DLC? Because it 10x more disgusting the other way around. By the end of the day, DLC is 100% optional and workshop is more so. Don't like it don't buy it. And excuse made in heaven? Do you have any idea what kind of horror show can happen if the GECK dropped before major updates and patches are done? Without steam, mircosoft and Sony green lighting it? You realize they are in the process of not only allowing mods for PC now, but the consoles, too? As for DLC 1, I doube it would've been bested by modders alreaddy if the GECK was out. For one, not so sure anyone would have had the same idea, for 2, the art assets and such are professionally done.. DLC2 is the same in that regard, sure some of it could and has been done via mods, but, meaning no offense to the mod authors at all, this content will be better quality over all. At least when it comes to most mod content, the professionally done version will be better, that isnt always the case though and I am not saying that to cut down the community AT ALL. I have seen really great content come from the community. Someone could really argue that a lot of DLC could just be done by modders and not be wrong, but it certainly doesnt mean I dont want the DLC version any less.
