Is this game a CTD nightmare like Skyrim or is better optimized for moding?

In the hundreds of hours I've played Fallout 4, it has crashed only once. Now granted, modding hasn't really gotten started yet so we can't say for certain how the game performs under a heavy mod load. However, I do use Commonwealth Spawns Extended alongside Increased Spawns Scripted Version, and somehow I ended up making it so that I came upon a group of about 20 wild dogs, and in the middle of fighting them about 16 ghouls joined the fight, and then shortly thereafter a squad of about 8 super mutants joined in as well. While this was happening, the squad of raiders I had been observing off in the distance before this all started were fighting a swarm of mirelurks. The game didn't even blink... Skyrim would have blinked, and then jumped out a window.

Strange I never had CTD issues with Skyrim, that were not my fault, by not reading the description page and compatibility known issues with other mods and/or not made for the DLC that were with Skyrim. It has and is very solid and I have the game since 2012.

FO-4.

I bought it in Feb/March of this year, hoping that most, note I did not say, "all", but most the bugs would be worked out.

Wrong - it would not even install.

But, there was a fix, after doing some internet search and I thanked the guy most graciously for his fix, as it did indeed fix the issue I had. Then it installed perfectly and all was was good "The Common Wealth".

When I finished my sort of play through the first time. I found I actually got seriously bored w/the game. I decided to start over, as at that time the Robot DLC came out and kind of, well did not work well w/the current game. It took me a 'few' to figure out why. So I looked over some mods that I hoped would change the boring level of this game to capture my attention.

Then, as I was starting to 'get into it' a little more - the Wasteland Workshop totally screwed up the mods that I had and I had to start the game over.

I'm glad that I bought the Game and DLC season pass on a special discount deal when I did. For the most part, I really found and am finding ... the game is boring.

I liked FO-3 and FO-NV and Skyrim a whole lot better. They kept my attention and interest right from the start. Skyrim is still my #1 game ... but I know now, that most of that is because the modding community has successfully kept that game very much ALIVE!

The Robot DLC is good, but I'm hoping that the Far Harbor gets me out of the 'boring' factor. I also have hopes that the Mod Community will kick in and add some great quests and such to bring this game alive.

One Quest mod already had me going, "YES! This is what I am looking for."

There are still some mods that I have yet to get to work since Wasteland Workshop DLC was released .. some I did get to work and others just seem bent on not working, no matter what suggestions I try and re-try.

I can't speak for others, but I'm running a modded Fallout and have had no crashes at all. I had a couple of crashes early on before mods, but since the update all is good.

As always with this engine, Your Mileage May Vary. Some people have no crashes, some people have so many the game is unplayable (like I did with Skyrim until the Unofficial Patch came out).

With FO4 I have had maybe 12, not including corrupt savegames. Tons of quest bugs etc.
