GECK in Beta?

A beta version means the software is being tested. An open beta such as NMM allows anyone to participate in the test and hopes they will report any bugs. While a closed beta such as they are doing for the GECK right now is by invitation only. The application for participating in the beta testing was a while ago. And those are the people doing the testing right now. If you were not accepted in advance, you cannot get in now. Maybe - but it is not required that they do so, Beth may release an open beta later if they decide it needs more testing.

If you are not creating mods then you do not need the GECK - it is not needed to play the mods that are made with it. If you are not making mods then even having the geck will do absolutely nothing to your game for either good or bad. GECK is a tool for mod creators, and not for mod users. In fact, the geck is not running while you play the game. Once the mod is completed, it is saved in the format that the game can use and then uploaded to a site such as Nexus where you download the mod - without the GECK. Mods made using the GECK will be downloaded and installed exactly the same as those made without it - a user should see no difference at all.

The 1.5 beta that is available now, is merging the survival beta the the mods beta into one tree.

The mods beta is what CK beta testers were using, and it had the survival beta in it all along. (which was

a bit of a surprise)

The CK is separate.

1.5 beta (which you still have to opt in to in steam), now has the menus for getting and managing mods.

The getting mods part doesn't work, because you cannot make the account/login yet to beths mod site.

Yet.

You don't HAVE to get mods directly from Beth on a PC, consoles are a different story I believe.

As above, you don't need CK to actually use the mods, just to make them.

The mods part that you can't get to yet is still being worked on, hence it still being in closed beta.

Soon young padawan, soon. :)

I'm wondering if Betheda will release other offical tools to help people make their own textured models and stuff instead of us using Nifskope and messing around with BullShtLighting Shader Branches or do they 'technically' not want you to use anything other than their original model objects for use with the Creation Kit?

read somewhere that some1 was using nvidia 3ds -or something- and the 3D-Builder that comes with Windows 10, to create mesh's - could that be even a bit true!? or have i read lies and misdirections!?

would be nice tho- if 3D-builder somehow could be used to create the 3D objects for the geck ^^
