Import and Export Armor

I've been trying to learn blender recently and as such I've been following the tutorials on this forum up to the point of importing and exporting armor but I've hit a problem following the instructions. Step 14 in the tutorial suggests that the .blend file I just created a few steps ago should be imported as a .nif which then returns the rather obvious error of 'ValueError: not a nif file'.

Can anyone explain what I'm missing here?

step 14 doesn't say import any blend file as a nif. It is saying import the skeleton.nif.

Where can I find the skeleton.nif?

The only nif files in this screen look like they were made by the author (being as they are in a folder called my blender files).

Skeleton.nif is found where all the other nifs are, in meshes.bsa. Specifically meshes\characters\_male\

 

Those importready nifs were put up by cuteunit many years ago now. they will still be on the net somewhere I expect.. dunno if they exist on nexus though.
