No energy weapon love?

Ok I'm sure we all know that we have all these stand alone weapon mods.

Most of them are ballistic modern stand alone guns, or a melee weapon like a sword.

So can someone tell me why the HELL there are NO energy weapons?! Be it pistol, rifle, heavy gun, or otherwise!
Energy weapons need some love, I like these stand alone guns as much as the next guy/gal but can someone please make an energy weapon that is standalone like the R91?

I'd agree that the energy weapon selection is pretty awful. I'd love to have some nice looking pistols/rifles.

I finally got this to work after getting it to work then finding out that the update did something and I have no idea what and I spent my time making the mod go to a later mod involving institute and replacing all instances of "institute laser" of any kind with this

plasma defender looks nice, so does the fusion rifle
the apollo looks like F1 laspistol and potentially cool, the van buren las looks...
well I'm sure you'll be able to make it look half decent at any rate, I'm a bland aesthetist myself (although I've been won over before)
if anyone can do it looks like you can :p
if it shoots lightning ensconced laserbolts it'd work wonderfully

I know it may not mean much now but there's a mod that I've been working on for the Fallout Mod Contest featuring Space Age/Retro Future looking weapons inspired by the Nuka Cola stuff and Alien Blaster stuff. It'll eventually be a faction but just working on weapons right now. It'll be under the name Cosmonautics. First gun should be out Saturday-Sunday barring any Creation Kit stupidity.

I was also of the impression that we were lacking in energy stuffs. So I'm working on not only energy weaponry but also energy enhanced ballistic imagery because I like some of the things that come with ballistic weapons but want a "space agey" feel to it.

the buffet just grew, might I ask what sorts of themes/concepts you're doing for that sort of thing?
like, pulse rifles, microwave guns, or I dunno~
