iamtbr3
Bumping. I have the same error, the installer also won't let me change the file path to another directory to see if that's the issue.
mugatu22
Are you running the Bethesda.net launcher in administrator mode when trying to install GECK? I had the same problem as well, make sure that you check in task manager as well before trying to start up the Bethesda.net launcher because it will stay running as a service even after you exit it. NecroMods
Are you running the Bethesda.net launcher in administrator mode when trying to install GECK? I had the same problem as well, make sure that you check in task manager as well before trying to start up the Bethesda.net launcher because it will stay running as a service even after you exit it. You speak the truth! Make sure you close Bethesda Launcher from the task bar and then run the launcher as an administrator. The issue is that Bethesda Launcher is trying to access your system file location without having permission from the administrator. This worked for me. stofferogsteen
I just tried to update. Now I get this error and it persists in spite of administrator rights.

Colleenfrances
Bump. I'm having this issue too. Creation Kit refused to update so I uninstalled it. Now its refusing to reinstall. Someone said to fix it was to change the install path to the Bethesda Launcher games folder, but I can't test it because it won't let me change the path. :/
Tremere777
The run as administrator failed for this on my instance of it so I'm trying safe mode with internet connectivity to bypass the Win 10 permissions problem inherent in the OS.
