RadoGamer
Actually Sophie has a good point! I was at the end of the Concord quest with no where to sleep in sight, the last thing I wanted to do is run back to Red Rocket and get some sleep. The last bit is to kill the DeathClaw, after painstaking strategic moves going from building to building and picking him off I had him down a micron of life on his bar stepped out too far and he killed me all this at level 3. I had to start the whole quest over, very frustrating after all that work. I like the idea of re-enabling saves, the console idea may be good for some people but I like the entire idea of removing any temptation of playing with a console at hand. I use it in Skyrim and I used it in FO4 but I know it has a tendency to make me feel like a lazy gamer.I happen to like Beth's games, they are some of the best games I've played and I have a huge collection. Unfortunately sometimes bad decisions are made and I agree, this is one of them!
mcguffin
I personnally like the survival mode as it is, but for all of you who need to feel safe the most streamlined solution is here:http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11664/ You can set a shortcut to save (and a lot of other thing), and it's pure fallout code, no script involved.Beware however, things may be not quite balanced since you keep your adrenaline buff when you save. RadoGamer
Sophiextime here's a promising option that has minor impact on game play. You can create a chem that when taken saves your game, http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12262/?
Ghozgul
Hey guys, my problem is a bit different, when I launch the game, I'm at the moment when you need to "press a key to start", so I do it and after I can't click nowhere anymore, I can't go to the option or continue my game, I tried to disabled all my mod, but nothing change....anyone has the same problem ? SGTbayk47
You could also try this mod. It effectively re-adds the F5 quicksave, with no need for in-game actions like crafting or finding a bed.

Sorry everyone for ranting and being a 'drama queen'. I will leave your suffering eyes and ears alone and try this ideal mod and hopefully play the survival mode as it should be played in my own humble opinion. :)

sophiextime
And thats a very important point McGuffin. Everyone has the right to enjoy a game how they want to enjoy it. Its why we spend time playing and how we choose the game that we love and enjoy. I think if a person wants to use a bed to sleep and save their game and enjoys the importance of where the next bed is then thats totally cool. I am happy they love that and i wouldn't dream of changing their game. I just felt that for myself and anyone that didnt want that in their game, they had zero choice. However it has been fixed. A mod is out that in its way replaces the F5 quicksave with a new auto-save hotkey option so i can now play survival Mode in the way i enjoy :) Happy wandering!! :)
minngarm
You have every choice, play it on another difficulty setting. It's not called challenging mode, it's not called hold your hand for when you f*#@ up mode.
AnvilOfWar
You have every choice, play it on another difficulty setting. This right here is the biggest bullshit excuse I see people in favor of sleep-to-save use. "Play on another difficulty setting, or then perhaps this mode isn't for you." Like they are some kind of internet gatekeeper about how people should play their -own- game. So, I love the fact that sleep/food/water needs, added difficulty with diseases and other environment hazards exist. Lowered carry weight and heightened damages, all of those things make sense for the -CHARACTER- to be concerned about, if trying to survive in a post apocalypse world. Saving your game state is a product that Fallout 4 is a GAME, the character is completely unaware that a "save" has taken place, to them their death and reload is not recognized by the character. You as a "godlike player" have basically altered time for the character, and thus the character never "knows" they died back there. There have been plenty of arguments that make the reasoning that sleep-to-save just makes the character of Nate/Nora into a narcoleptic more interested in the next bed, then exploring and surviving.
