1.5 = Tons of Settlement Attacks?

I have 18 settlements and all have adequate defense.

I played for four hours today and have done nothing but respond to settlement attacks. And because I like the NEEDS aspect of survival mode, I have to walk all over the map to respond to attacks. I intended to spend the day confronting the Mechanist, but now I can't do anything but hike and respond to these attacks.

is it just me?

Had one settlement attack in a 3 hour session today. Not sure if that was abnormal or not.

I recommend http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10157/? which allows you to build vehicles to move between settlements. There are various versions such as one which requires fuel. It's very survival friendly and balanced imo.

For me that started a month ago from an update, I play on normal and went from 1 attack every few hours to 3 attacks about every 20 min., sometimes all 3 at once lol.

Defense makes absolutely no difference, I have all settlements with anywhere from 400-1000 defense rating.

Sometimes a settlement will get attacked from 3 directions at once. Yes, it does make it hard to do anything else. :)

Chiming in on this one. I often have anywhere between 1 and 3 coinciding attacks. I usually have 100+ defence on my settlements and I've never once seen a settlement successfully defend itself post-1.5 (they did several times before 1.5). Also, there are sprawling fights constantly respawning on either side of Hangman's Alley -- I can walk by 10 minutes later and there will be another shootout in the broken houses right at Boston's edges (near Hangman's Alley). Definitely some hinkiness afoot in 1.5.

I am sure most of you already know this .. .but for any newbies who might read this going, "How do I deal with this?"

Simple answer: Turn > OFF < the attack in your Quest Window - UNCHECK IT.

This will disable the attack until you wish to deal with it. No, granted it's not real life, so to speak - but also getting FTL messages on your Pip-Boy about the attack, when all of the settlements have no way to really communicate with your Pip-Boy .... all is fair.

Then when you are ready to deal with it - I usually get within a good few "blocks" of the settlement in question and then turn that attack on and there - I am there to "save their butts", once again.

My question is: Where the frake are the other MM's? Why am I the only one that shows up!!!??

I have a 440 defense on Sanctuary and this (post 1.5) is the first time since I've been playing that it's ever been attacked. Not only that but it was a two ended attack by super mutants coming in from both the south and the west. I got there just as the attack started in both locations and between my defenses and settlers, I didn't even have to fire a shot. I just picked over the bodies and that was it. So I know that the settlement can defend itself, but yes, I think they stepped up the settlement attacks quite a bit.

You're not only the 'General', you're also the army. The rest of the MM are too busy pacing around with Preston trying to think up new places that they can send you.

First time i've played on 1.5 today and i had 2 attacks in around 4 hours. That in itself is an increase (for me), but even more unusual was that they both started at exactly the same time. Definitely something funky going on

i can handle settlement attacks WHAT I CANT handle is i have no way to get there in time when i am all the way across the mod trying to do a quest so i can unlock a settlement.. (i really wish i have a way to disable it. i hate going into the tunnels in the rock Curry (sp) the one u find the sword. AND i dont know when it times out. (i had plenty do that.)

NOW the thing i dont understand WHY WHY dont my turrets handle the def? i placed there there for a risen.. come on def of 200+ agents lowly zombies or super mutants. (i made a post that should knock out everything that gets close.. (watched a utube video to make the turret stand) wish they made in to account u have a def grid and tell u if u blasted everything dead or not..

I'm not sure why, but since I finished the main quest, I have about 50 Minutemen in Sanctuary, all hanging around my workbench. They don't show up on the stats, but they gave a party of raiders one hell of a shock, when they attacked Sanctuary and the Minutemen ran off towards the attack and mopped it up in short order. I played for about 4 hours yesterday and had to deal with 3 attacks on settlements.
