foreighn aid

With all the turmoil in the world. The changing alliances and the characteristic unknowns that are running these revolutions in the Middle East, is it wise for any western country to continue foreign aid to these countries. If we are simply propping up despotic regimes are we aiding them in stepping on their own people, and if the country does revolutionize, wouldn't it be prudant to find out who is now pulling the strings. Do we really know these people and know that our money is actually being used for the best purposes, by those we give it to.

Another point is are we giving it with the idea of helping out or are we just trying to place a layer of control on that country, so we can use them for our own purposes.

We are borrowing 43 cents on every dollar we spend... so, we shouldn't be handing out ANY foreign aid, when we can't even pay our own bills.

The aid we are handing out now, to countries in rebellion, are bribes. Plain and simple.

Pretty much. But, some of them are even so that local governments loo the other way and ignore what American businesses are doing in their country. So, in a disgusting and underhanded way, it is actually helping American businesses... But, since these are the sort who are in the top 50 companies, and have most of their labor outsourced, it's arguable if they're good or bad for the economy.

Let private citizens do the foreign aid. Since it's their money, they want to know what it's doing, not being wasted, and often private charity groups don't deal with the governments, but rather directly with the people.
