Ogramirad
I am liking the New Orleans idea, maybe take in the Gulf Coast from Clear Water Florida all the way west to Houston. You could have two or three rather large cities that way, and all the rough and tumble woods and swamps in between.

xxcomrad3xx
Why wouldn't NY make sense ? because new york got hit the hardest with the nukes, being the primary point of the US economy.. nothing would be alive
Talwyn224
I haven't read through the past 18 pages of answers but I'm sure there have been comments which say FO4 will be set in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I'd say there are good odds that will indeed be the case. However I'd like FO4 to be set in and around the Border of Canada plus Oregon, Washington states for the following reasons: 1 - it's been hinted that the canon ending of NV is the Yesman/independant Vegas one. This means the NCR is thrown back from the east, its politicians like Kimball get dumped and the NCR only has one way now to expand - Northwards. 2 - this is a region which we have absolutely no information on so it's a blank slate for which to set an entirely new story and develop the franchise further. It'd be great to learn what has happened to that region and how occupied Canada [ie; Vancouver] is faring. 3 - The NCR would only be a small presence there and not a major player thus allowing new factions to be introduced. 4 - You've got new cities and towns to use like Seattle, Vancouver, Portland etc. Seattle would be a very interesting site as it's a major site of industry like aviation and high tech manufacturing. There are a couple of potential storyline/hooks that could be used: firstly the remnants of the West Coast BoS finally see the writing on the wall and abandon California and head north to escape their final destruction by the NCR , a 23rd century Oregon trail perhaps? Another is NCR scouting parties stumble across new societies that want nothing to do with them and thus the potential for another costly war looms on the horizon for the NCR. I'd like the new game to be much larger in its scope and area of sandbox to explore. I should be on the scale that FO2 was.
DeusExElysium
I would *love* to have a Fallout game set in Florida.
xxcomrad3xx
im highly HIGHLY doubting the next fallout game will be in any one cities major ruins. After fallout 3 people became sick of crawling around a place that just looked the same everywhere you went and it came to feel like you were doing the same thing over and over. Hence the reason new vegas was made because it was more open and was lore friendly, plus players begged for a change if anyone can remember that. Chances are this place is gunna be in the midwest US. Theres many factions and talk of the area. Simply that much more then any other place. It has MWBoS it has enclave, legion.. and who else knows whose there..NYC should just be crossed off peoples wishlist lol.. because thats probably never gunna happen, and if it does not till quite some time till more lore comes out and we know how it was affected

Plus, you could build off of some Fallout 2 lore that way.
