Mods with the most reported bugs...

Yeah, mods like Repairable Sanctaury (the most buggy mod I've ever used on this game) only has a few reports, but very serious issues are easily caused through that mod, the most serious of which can require a full reinstall of your game. Also, a lot of times people will repost the same issues without even reading the previous ones, or they'll post something that isn't really the mods fault.

Very popular mods will of course be used by many more mod users thus when something goes wrong, like what happened when the 1.5 update was released, then there will be many more people with possible issues flooding the forums with complaints. So just because there are reports of reported bugs doesn't necessarily mean the mod should have some kind of dubious honor.

Does anyone know the mod that holds the dubious honor of the most reported bugs? I've seen spring cleaning has 45, any higher?

It's not the mods fault per se. It just triggers an issue that exist in vanilla game and can be replicated with other mods editing any of the settlement cells. Bethesda has contacted one of the modders confirming that they are working on a fix that should be avaible with next patch.

I can not count how many times I have had a "bug" after putting in a new mod that had only the coincidental honor of being the last I put in and not truly the reason for the bug. I am not saying mods don't have issues, obviously they do. And most mod authors are very good at either fixing these when they are correctly reported or saying "hey..this has an issue I can not (or not yet) fix. But coming on a thread whose only purpose seems to be to want to throw some folks mods under the bus is a bit distressing.

Fallout 4 has been unique in the number and kinds of mods made before the official tools were released. This has been amazing and in some ways an issue. Now that the GECK or whatever they call it now, is out, more mods can be maid that perhaps avoid some pitfalls of those released previously.

That the mod authors are not here to know about or defend the things said or that could be said about their mods is troubling. If you want better and more bug free mods then do the right thing and report them tot he mod authors. Take the time to read the descriptions and other information given by the mod authors BEFORE you use the mod. Read the comments and even those bug report pages. Use the mod and then report any findings or confirm some things that have been found already. Working with the mod authors is the best way the community can assure good mods and the continuation of mods being made.

There are a whole lot of issues with modding not least of which is that popular mods exist that are very likely to cause serious issues.

Of course the masses will help shout down unpopular ideas a perfect example of that is the still common belief that the Papyrus Log is a Crash Detector and we still get people coming back to modding and insist that we experienced modders interpret their "crash reports."

One of the longest running threads in Skyrim Tech Support was in fact using the Pap Log to debug crashes and it did not matter how many software engineers spoke out against it...Many Mod Authors would just go along with the belief to avoid problems with their audience.

The posters above me are right however the more popular mods tend to bear all the flack and I've seen quite a few people post their completely unrelated problems with a mod over and over again through the years.

Bugs reported are not bugs that happen. The other day i read a "bug"-report one cannot build a custom settlment in rad-areas, because he dies while building.... Not wearing rad-protection while in rad-area ist not a bug of some kind, its purely stupid.

Therefore: People report bugs, where are none.
