sunshinenbrick
Surely just a matter of perspective. Bigotry is a given. 'Androgynity' in some form is kinda inevitable if we are to progress technologically... which is likely. Unless of course... and even then... ...life will still go on. (pretty ironic!) I don't give us more than another 100 years. :D

I don't give us more than another 100 years. :D Either we will become part robot or be replaced by them entirely (I'm putting my bets on the former). Gender, and probably many other characteristics, will become appendable, material, perhaps even 'obsolete'. Yeah we may very well try wipe each other out, and succeed to some degree, but even if 'we' don't, then other things will still progress on. Furthermore, and as I believe I have eluded to in this thread before, these 'problems' are only for us plebeian folk as in such a future our societies will likely be distilled ever further than they already are. There is of course an alternative but this perhaps begins to call into question the definition of 'progress' a little... I'm open, but let's be honest. So yeah whichever way you look at it, I'd agree it's largely irrelevant.
Signette
Seriously don't think we will succeed in wiping ourselves out so soon (or anytime soon at all), because some parts of the world are trying so hard at this, but still no luck, demography is booming in those parts especially... Considering what sunshinenbrick said, it is true that in future androgynity might become more common in society than today and be much more accepted, that plus pretty wild diversity in looks overall, because if human will learn to "tune" itself in specific "bodyshops", this will be pretty popular too I guess. But it's all might be true only for "higher" society class, meaning more wealthy parts of it. In case of this scenario social divide will be even larger than now, and situation will pretty much repeat itself. In certain, more civil parts of the world, transgender doesn't shock anyone and there's pretty high acceptance from what I can tell, for more backward parts that's still a big problem... (war, disease, whathaveyou) But, we are poisoning our environment, and our climate is changing. Two things I really do not expect to change. Given current generation humans are all about 'gimme, gimme', and outright refuse to accept that some things are simply beyond their control, so, refuse to adapt to changing conditions...... I expect to see some major disasters, that are purely man-made, closely followed by economic collapse on a grand scale. THAT will lead to wars, and various other 'bad things'™. We are our own worst enemy, and I really don't see that changing either.
kvnchrist
Trans men are men; trans women are women. Simple. It's only confusing if you're coming from a bigoted standpoint to begin with.Lets not get into a contest of terminologies here. I'm transgender and I call myself male to female transgender because the first is what people percieve and the last is what I am. I don't think that bigots are confused about anything, because they seem to be the one's who refuse the terminology and claim that I am confused because I think I'm a women and I clearly look like a man, to them. All you have to do is look between your legs, and you should realize that you are indeed a man.
